"Madelyn, I really want to talk to you about something-"April says
Before Madelyn can process what April just said Alex brings Alexis back into the room "Here's our girl" he says
"Hi, sweetie. Gimme, gimme, gimme" April says softly
As Alex passes the baby to the redhead he says "Alexis is gaining weight right on schedule. She's healthy and fat"
"Fat baby" Madelyn says giving Alex a fist bump
"Fat baby" Alex repeats "And healthy enough to go home toady"
"Yeah?" Madelyn says
"Are you sure she's ready?" April asks "What about her respirations? I thought I-"
"Kepner, you can take your kid home" Alex says as his phone starts beeping "Look, I got to go" he says
"Oh, that's toady" Madelyn says
"Congrats on the fat baby" Alex replies as he walks out
"Okay, yeah. Thanks" Madelyn says "Why the face? It's a good thing" she says to April
"Not for me" April says "My incision opened back up. They want to do wound therapy"
"Oh April" Madelyn sighs
"Alexis is going home. But i'm not" the redhead whispers sadly

"When you get home, just put her in the little yellow onesie with the frog on it" April says "That was her going home from the hospital onesie"
"I know" Madelyn says softly "I'll take pictures" she adds as April beings to cry "Hey"
"She's going home without me" April says
"Yeah. And what did we just say about that?" Madelyn asks taking a seat next to the redhead
April sighs "The important thing is that she's healthy and i'm healthy"
"Exactly"
"That's crap" April exclaims "She supposed to be with me bonding and attaching or whatever. Smelling me like birds and dogs"
"Birds and dogs?" Madelyn questions
"Shut up. It's nature" April exclaims "How's she gonna attach to me when she's there and i'm here?"
"You're gonna be discharged soon" Madelyn says
"And then what? Im still going to be in recovery. You know the ins and outs of post-op incisions. I'm not even gonna be able to pick her up with— without help" April says "Im gonna have to hire someone to come and take care of her"
