Madelyn can barely hear herself think as music fills Meredith's house, full of residents who are celebrating passing their boards, including April despite not passing

"I just think it's weird that we're not even talking about it. You know, things are unresolved here" Madelyn says to April as she sits on the arm of the sofa the redhead is currently sat on

"We're still friends" April says drunkenly "It's all good, Mads" she slurs as she gets up yelling "I love this song! Excuse me"

"Kepner's wasted. That's a first" Alex says walking up to Madelyn

"Yeah, well, lately she's been all about... firsts" she replies through gritted teeth

"Wait, wait, wait. Music" Cristina says as the sound of her phone ringing "This is Dr. Yang. Well, that does certainly give me a lot to think about. Thank you so much for calling" she hangs up "Mayo wants to give me a research lab. Guess who's back in the running!"

"Whoo!"

"Yeah, Cristina!"

The music is turned back on and April starts dancing again

"So that's what rock bottom looks like" Alex mutters as he walks away finally leaving Madelyn alone

Another phone starts to ring, so the music is muted again

"Music. Music"

It's April's phone "Hello. Uh, yes, this is she. Okay. Well, yes, thank you. Thank you. Um, thank you so much for the opportunity" she says hanging up "U.V.A. wants a board-certified surgeon so they pulled my offer" everyone just stares at her "Come on. Music. Come on" she says but no one does anything "Come on. Music! Come on!" she says as Mer hesitantly turns it back on as April starts dancing again

Madelyn can't take her eyes off of April, but not in a way she normally would, this time her heartbreaks for the redhead, she wishes she could do something, anything to make her feel better. But she can't, it's out of her hands.

Callie pulls back "So, is it true are you really leaving me for Hopkins?"

"Uh, well I haven't decided yet..."

"You should" Mark interrupts

"Wow, that eager to get rid of me Sloan" Madelyn says pretending to be heartbroken

"No" he defends "It's Hopkins, who turns down Hopkins?!"
