Madelyn clears her throat "Um, listen, I just got our last joint cellphone bill, and I'm pretty sure they still charged your card, so I just want to write you a check"

"It's fine" April dismisses

"No, no, no. You shouldn't have to..."

April interrupts "No, seriously, Madelyn. It's fine"

"If you're sure..."

"This one's on me" April smiles shyly

Madelyn nods "Okay" she says before walking off

"Hi" Madelyn says as she watches Amelia walk into the attending's lounge

"Hi"

"You're only wearing one boot" Madelyn says

"I know. I was late. And I couldn't find the other one" Amelia replies

"Amelia" Madelyn sighs

"Ah. You think I'm bootless 'cause I'm drunk. It's fine. I'm not drunk. I just got my 60-day chip. I am bootless because I had sex with Owen, and his stupid trailer is very dark. And I was very late because of the sex, which was so great. So I just thought, "screw it." I may not know where my boot is, but it's gonna be a great day"

"I hate you" Madelyn mumbles

"Don't hate" Amelia says

"I haven't had sex in weeks" Madelyn groans

"Well your divorced now, you can have sex with anyone you want. Just like you used to" Amelia says

"Yeah well, I don't want to go back to how I used to be" Madelyn mumbles

"Oh!" Madelyn exclaims "The blonde brat"

"She wasn't a brat" Meredith says "She was a teenager"

"Same thing" Madelyn replies walking away

"Do you even want the ring?" Madelyn asks as she plays with her food

"I do want it, I just can't-"

"Yeah" Jo mutters sadly

"You know, you could just tell Alex the truth he'll understand" Madelyn says

"Yeah, but its Alex, he'll just do something stupid and I don't beat him to" Jo replies

"Oh, no. I told you"

"And I appreciate that. But I don't want to leave anything, um, undone. Okay?" Madelyn says

April nods slowly "Okay" she says "Madelyn"

"Yeah?" the brunette questions

"Can I ask you something?" The redhead asks

"Sure"

"If we had managed to get pregnant, do you think we would still be together?"

Madelyn let's out a deep sigh "Honestly? Yeah, we probably would. Why?"

"No reason" April says

"Is everything okay?" Madelyn asks

"Yeah, yeah. Everything's fine" April replies quickly, not reassuring Madelyn but the brunette didn't push any further

"Okay then"
