"Excuse me" April says as she reaches past Madelyn to get something from the open refrigerator which the brunette is aimlessly staring at

"Sorry" Madelyn mumbles moving out of the redheads way

Once April had gotten what she needed she returns to the other side of the kitchen island now facing Madelyn. The redhead had planned to keep conversation between the two to a minimum after last nights conversation however when she looked over Madelyn she couldn't help but notice the dullness in her blue eyes. She also noticed how the brunette was just stood their staring into nothingness.

"Everything okay?" April finally asks but doesn't get a response "Madelyn?" she questions slightly louder this time

"Huh" the brunette hums as she snaps out of her trance

"What's wrong?" April asks softly

"Nothing. I'm just tried" the brunette says letting out a yawn

After a moment of silence in which the redhead debated whether she believed the brunette she says "I can take Alexis to daycare toady if you don't feel-"

"No, no, no" Madelyn interrupts "We'll be fine"

April squints her eyes as if that'll give her the answer to Madelyn's strange behaviour, instead she offers a small nod in response along with a quick "I'll see you later then" as she heads out of the apartment

Madelyn was so caught up in her own thoughts she didn't even notice April had left, not until she heard the cries from Alexis comity from the other room

About an hour later Amelia had let herself into the apartment and joined Madelyn at the table, the older Shepherd ranting about Owen whilst the younger Shepherd busied herself on her laptop

"-I'm not hiding from him or avoiding him- i'm just not trying to find him or talk to him. You get the right?" Amelia asks finishing up "Right?" she asks "Madelyn? What the hell?!" she says closing her sisters laptop

"Amelia?!" Madelyn exclaims

"I've been talking to you for about half an hour! Did you hear anything I said?" she asks

Madelyn rubs her forehead in confusion "Yeah, you're hiding at Stephanie's and you're sabotaging your marriage"

"I'm not sabotaging my marriage" Amelia defends

"Okay, but you are avoiding Owen" Madelyn asks

"I am not?!" Amelia exclaims

"Amelia you're sat in my apartment ranting to me instead of being at work where you belong because you don't want to talk to him" Madelyn points out

"Well, you're not at work either" Amelia says

"Yeah because April suspended me for a week" Madelyn says "It's different"
