"Dog is amazing Y/n." Travis said.

"Y/n!" Vanessa yelled through the phone.

"Nessa!" I yelled sitting on the floor with Travis.

"Don't Nessa me," she frowned, "you seriously made Summer the godmother of Dog?"

"Mama I swear it didn't mean anything," I shrugged, "it was just the heat of the moment."

She smiled. "Ohhh and you had a moment with her?" She nodded. "Wait till I see you."

"I'm not scared of you." I rolled my eyes.

"Oh really?" She asked.

"Hi," Travis said and jumped in front of my camera, "I'm Travis and your really pretty."

"Aww, thank you Travis," she smiled, "I'm Vanessa."

He nodded. "Are you my sister's girlfriend?"

My eyes widened. "Nope, she broke my heart." She said.

I rolled my eyes again. "Overdramatic butt." I said then I felt a small hand hit my face. "Ow, Travis what the hell?"

"You broke her heart," he stood with Dog and shook his head, "shame on you." Then he walked away.

I looked back at the screen when I heard Vanessa laughing. "Yup, keep laughing, I'll see you soon."

"Ohh I'm scared," she said and went back to laughing, "he smacked the shit out of you."

-

"Stop bouncing your leg Y/n," Summer said resting her hand on my leg, "your making me nervous."

We were at the event and everyone was having a good time. Well, besides me since I was freaking out.

"You got this Y/n." Summer grabbed my hand.

I nodded and smiled at her. "I like the caring Winter better than every day Winter."

She pulled her hand away rolling her eyes.

I chuckled. "I wish Quincy was here." I said.

He was at home being a good dad and watching Dog and Travis.

"Am I not good enough now?" Summer asked.

"Get out of your feelings Winter your more than enough." I kissed her cheek.

"Ew." She wiped her blushing face.

I chuckled as Ross, the one who's running the event, walked up on stage.

"Alright everyone listen up," he said into the microphone with a big smile, "it's time to announce the winners of the up and coming photographer event."

Everyone clapped as my heart sped up. "Now everyone who participated in this competition did an amazing job but we can only pick three winners," he held an envelope up, "I will announce all three winners and then they will join me on stage, drum roll please." The drummer on stage did a drum roll.

Summer gripped my hand and smiled at me. "You got this."

"In third place we have," he paused to open the envelope, "Jack Union."

Everyone clapped. "Second place is Alyssa Carter." The claps sounded again.

Only one more spot. "And in first place we have," he paused for suspension, "Riley Adams!" He yelled.

I sighed and looked around the room seeing Stevie frowning. "I'm so sorry Y/n." Summer rubbed my shoulder.

I shook my head and stood grabbing her hand. "Come on." I said walking out of the room pulling her behind me.

"Where are we going?" She asked as we stepped into the stairwell.

"To the roof." I said and started up the sets of stairs.

"Woah, okay baby I know you really wanted that spot but I don't think jumping off the roof is the best decision." She rushed out trying to pull me back.

I laughed. "Stop pulling me back before we fall."

"No, Y/n let's talk about this." She said.

I stopped and turned around smiling. "You're an idiot." I said and threw her over my shoulder and started back up the stairs.

"Ahh Y/n put me down." She said hitting my back.

"I will when we get to the roof." I said.

"Do you seriously think jumping off the roof is the best option," she started, "I mean say you survive the jump, you're going to be in pain for the rest of your life." She said.

"Okay." I said once I reached the door labeled "roof".

I opened the door and put Summer down. I walked towards the wall surrounding the roof and leaned on it.

Summer walked up next to me and leaned on the wall looking at me. "You okay?" She whispered.

I nodded looking down at the people walking by. "I never wanted to be a photographer." I said.

"What?" She questioned. "Then why go through all of this if you didn't want to do it?"

"The same reason a lot of people go through 5 years of college just to work somewhere they hate," I looked at her, "money." I shrugged.

"Yeah but, you're so good at it." She said.

"Exactly, I'm good at it. I got a job in photography because I knew I was good at it and I knew I would make a lot of money from it, but I never really liked it." I sighed. "If I would've won tonight of course I would've gone through with it, I might not have been happy but, I would do it to make money. That's been my goal since I was 10." I looked at her. "Fucking 10 Summer, my only goal then should've been making friends."

I turned and slid down the wall with Summer following. "You never put yourself first." She said.

"No that's the thing, I try to make the people I care about happy so that I can be happy." I said.

She shook her head. "You won't ever be happy if you only do shit for others," she turned to me, "your happiness should always come first because if it doesn't, at the end of the day you won't truly be happy."

I looked down. "I can't be happy if the people I care about are sad."

"How do you know that them seeing you happy won't make them happy, maybe that's all they need," She said, "all they need is for you to put on that goofy-ass smile and brighten their whole world."

I laughed. "My smiles not goofy."

She laughed and leaned forward. "What'll make you happy, what do you want to be?" She whispered.

"A singer." I said without hesitation.

"Fuck, I could definitely see that." She chuckled, "your friends with Zayn, Y/n make it happen so you can be happy." She said.

"And what if I flop?" I asked.

She shrugged. "Then we'll find something else that makes you happy."

"We will?" I asked putting emphasis on we.

"Yes, I'll be there every step of the way," she smiled, "whether you want to be a singer or a fucking pornstar, I'll be there supporting you."

I smiled and pulled her into a hug. "Thank you Winter." I said.

"Anytime bébé."
