Arc 1: The Reincarnated Noob

Chapter 2: Character Creation

December 3, 2020- Thursday

The next day after my birthday celebration, my sister took it upon herself to teach me on how to use computer. She have woken me up at exactly 4:00 am in the morning just to teach me on how to use a computer.

" Jun Feng wakey wakey~ Today is the D-day! "

" Ugh... "

I feel annoyed and frustrated by being woken up so early in the morning. The sun hasn't even risen up yet. Just what is she thinking?

" Let me teach you on how to use a computer! "

I glared at her. My sister wryly smiled at me feeling guilty at woken me up in the morning.

" Well, my first subject was very early today. Sorry if I have woken you up. I can't exactly teach you to use the computer and how to play the game tommorow. "

My glare increase furthermore. She have woken me up, just for the game...

" Come on, Jun Feng! I already have the computer opened. "

Looks like my glare was ineffective. She was really determined to teach me. (not academically)

Under her expecting gaze, I sat on the chair which was place in front of the computer. My sister.. My lovable but sometimes frustrating and annoying sister decided to start on teaching me the basic instructions on how to use a computer.

Of course, I 'learned' how to use them rather quickly under her surprised expression.

" Wow! Jun Feng you're really a smart kid aren't you? "

My sister said as she patted my head. I frowned when she patted me. I didn't like head pats. I am not really a child who like head pats.

" Please stop patting my head.. "

She ignored what I have said and continued on patting my head. Regarding on me learning to use the computer quickly, I have already learned to use computer in my past life. In fact, if I have struggled on using the computer, I would be an embarrassment to my fellow reincarnators and otakus. I am also certain that some kids already know how to use computers.

After the head pats, I thought that everything would be over since I now know how to use a computer. I thought she would let me have a sleep, but my sister made sure that I already know some of the basic things like how to use opera. She was also helping me to make my Weibo, WeChat and QQ account. Which has rather the same and similar functions in some apps in his past life. Well, this Earth and my past life Earth is really similar except for a few things appearing and missing. Nothing have change much.

" Shen Jun Feng– "

My sister muttered my full name while she was typing it using the keyboard. I frowned and decided to interrupt her.

" Sister, could we not use my real name? "

She stopped on typing and look at me frowning.

" Eh.. Why? "

Precautionary measures..

" How about using a pseudonym? "

" Hmmm.. Okay. So, how about Little Phoenix? "

" No. "

The suggestion of pseudonym continued on a few minutes before we eventually reached a co stalemate by the pseudonym of  “ Crawling Chaos. ” My sister thought that i was really weird for being aware of Lovecraft works.

After the little episode, everything went well on the process of creating accounts for Weibo, WeChat and QQ. My sister then searched the website of the game Glory. And she took it upon herself to explain some things. Like how the Glory is China's most popular MMORPG and probably in the world. The first launch of the game was 2012. Specifically December 2, 2012 at midnight. The day of my birthday– it was strange. Maybe that is also the reason why my parents decided to gift me a chance to play Glory.

My sister also went to briefly explain about the Glory Professional Alliance. And she was also regretful that because of her part time job she can't watch the match. Her boss wouldn't allow her to watch the game competition. After feeling sad for a few moments, she started describing the top and best players of the game. She even went so far to call add "God" in their name. How blasphemous... I never thought that my sister was a game otaku– a glory fangirl. It was strange seeing her acting like that. Well, it was probably not really weird considering she have woken me up very early just for this.

" Ah, anyway yesterday it just happened that the 8th server has officially launched. A great timing isn't? Don't worry. I'm sure that you would do fine even you are one day behind them. "

I nodded my head not really feeling worried by the game. I thought that I had it worse in my past life. It seems that I was wrong. My sister looks like that she was more enthusiastic about games than I was in my past life.

" Let's create your account now, shall we? "

My sister look so gleeful when she slides the card in the log in device. Wasn't I supposed to be the one to do that since it was my account card registered under my name? I never thought that gaming is complicated since it needs your real name and information. But maybe this is just the case for Glory.

[ Welcome to Glory ]

Those words appeared in the monitor while a robotic monotone voice was also heard through the headphones.

Sighing, I clicked the create character button that was displayed on the monitor. It was really strange when my sister was excited and I wasn't. Maybe I should let myself enjoy for a little bit?

After clicking, the create character interface appeared. I instantly clicked on having my character gender place on male. It was also surprising to know that I can edit my character as much as I can. This game was generous with their character creation. I also learned from my sister that the the log in device could do a face recognition for the character creation. Many have done it in the game. I decided to try my sister's suggestion.

" Eh.. Jun Feng you're rather small.. "

And I struggled on adjusting my character as much as possible because they also recognize that my face belong to a child. My character height was short. I glared at my sister since it was her suggestion.

" Well, you're character look so cute~ "

My sister said completely unapologetic. 

After a few minutes, I have the height and face adjusted to an adult as possible. Instead of looking manly, I have my character having a slender built. My sister have said that everyone would just then choose class in level 20. But I already know what class should I supposed to take. Maybe having this kind of built would be helpful in the class that I would take. I also decided on my character having a gold eyes and I made the ears a little sharp. My character looks like a half elf.

I'm certain that there are more funnier, embrassing and edgier names than mine. Certain influences from my past life are hard to get rid of.
