I'm on the phone with Natalie as I get Cathy ready while Jackson finishes getting ready for work.

Savannah: babe, hurry up. We need to get to the hospital. I have so much on my plate—

I was cut off when I felt the the room start to shake. Cathy starts to cry as I try to keep balance.

Jackson: babe!

Jackson rushes to my side and pulls Cathy and into his chest and into the doorway. I hold Cathy as close as I could to my chest as the room moved. Eventually, the room stops shaking and I let out a sigh of relief.

Jackson: are you guys okay?

Savannah: I'm fine. Cathy's fine.

Natalie- mom? Mom, what's going on?

I put my daughter on speaker.

Me- hi, baby. Sorry. Um, we had a bit of an earthquake situation over here.
Natalie- are you okay? What about dad and Cathy, are they okay?
Jackson- we're okay, Nat. Don't worry.
Me- we're on our way to the hospital, so we'll talk later, sweetheart.
Natalie- be safe.
Me- we will. Love you, baby.

I end the call.

Savannah: come on. Let's get going.

We grab our things then we make our way to the hospital.

-later-

I've been in the ER since I got to the hospital, and we had multiple traumas coming in due to the earthquake. I notice April by the desk, which shocked me.

Savannah: April. You're back. I'm so happy to see you.

April: yep, back and busy. Is anyone coming for bed eight?

Savannah: I paged Webber. Can you take five and six?

April: yeah.

April runs off as the phone rings, so I pick it up.

Savannah: Grey Sloan Emergency. Mhmm. Got it.

Callie approaches me.

Callie: I was paged?

Savannah: bed seven.

Webber looks at me as Callie leaves.

Savannah: did you need something, Webber?

Webber: oh, no, no. Uh, bed eight. Um, I'm– I'm on my way.

Savannah: okay. Yes, I'm here.

-later-

I'm at the front desk with Owen.

Owen: hey, we need to re-stock the supply cart in trauma two right away.

Nurse: right away.

I see Arizona join us.

Arizona: hey, that kid in bed two's ready to be discharged.

Amy: ditto bed one, who has hypochondria and not a giant tumor growing in her head.

I chuckle at Amy.

Owen: uh, heard anything from Herman? How's she doing?

Arizona takes out her phone.

Arizona: ooh, um... "enjoying blind institute. Learning how to not bump into things. Not typing this, obvi. Don't kill any babies.".

I chuckle at the text.

Savannah: well, she sounds good.

Just then, the phone rings.
