I let out a small groan as I get up to tend to the twins.

Savannah: I love my children, but why did we think another kid was a good idea?

I look over at my husband who was dead asleep.

Savannah: thanks for the help, darling. It's not like I'm going back to work tomorrow or anything. It's fine. I'll just go to work sleep deprived. It's totally fine.

I get up and walk over to the twins' room. I could hear Bella and Markus crying, and I lift Markus into my arms considering that he's crying the loudest.

Savannah: shh, it's okay, sweet boy. Mama's here. It's okay, baby.

Jayden: Sav?

I jump when I hear Jayden's voice.

Savannah: Jayden? It's almost two in the morning, bub. Why are you up?

Jayden: the twins woke me up.

Savannah: I'm sorry, honey. Just go back to sleep, I'll get them back down soon.

Jayden: let me help, sis.

Markus had started to calm down, so I nod at Jayden.

Savannah: okay. Remember to support his head.

I place Markus into Jayden's arms then I grab Arabella.

Savannah: look at that. He likes you.

Jayden: he's pretty cute. He looks a lot like you.

Savannah: I know. Are you sure you're okay? You have school in the morning.

Jayden: I'm fine. Anything to help my sister.

I smile at my little brother.

Today's my first day back at work, and I'm listening to Alex as I clip my ID to my lab coat.

Alex: so Hunt and Altman have personal days today, which means you're covering the pit by yourself. Can you handle it or do you need Bailey's help?

Savannah: it's sad that you doubt my abilities to run my own ER.

Alex: I don't doubt you at all. You are the one person I've never had any doubts about. You did just give birth to twins two months ago, and I don't want you stressing your body out too much. It's your first day back and I want you to know that I've got your back, and so does everybody else. I want you to know that we care about you and we love you.

I smile at Alex and give him a kiss on the cheek.

Savannah: you're very sweet, Alex. But don't worry, I'll be fine. You know, I'm gonna miss you as chief. You are way easier to work with. Before I go, are you still doing the twins' checkup?

Alex: yes, I am. Don't worry, I've got your back, Sav.

I smile as Alex kisses my cheek before we go our separate ways.

I let out a yawn as I find Jackson talking to Link and Nico talking about their rotation-plasty. I wrap my arms around his waist and lay my head on his chest.

Jackson: is someone sleepy?

Savannah: yes.

Jo: you look like you need coffee.

Savannah: I do. Hunt and Altman are out today, so I'm covering the pit on my own. Which means no surgery for Savannah. So I need coffee.

I snuggle into Jackson's chest as Jackson wraps his arms around my waist.
