Away in Dreamland (Kirby fanfiction)

Easter special 🎉

Yes! Easter is around the corner and I wanted to do something special for it. Now, I can't deliver any Easter eggs to you guys so I'll write a fanfic chapter about it. How exciting 🎉

Becca woke up in her room..what time was it even..? 4am?! It was obvious she perhaps shouldn't have gone to sleep so early yesterday...yesterday...

She could've swore that there was something important about today that she could just not put her finger on..

Walking over to her calendar that was suspended on the wall, she observed closely. Hovering a finger over the days, she scanned for that day's date.

It's the 5th if I am right...

There it said it,

It was Easter.

Easter had arrived in Dreamland. It really excited Becca because she'd been told that they didn't know what Easter was. " I'd best set up an egg hunt..." Becca whispered optimistically to herself.

So, with that she set to work, beaming with optimism. Around the castle she hid eggs that were coloured brightly and decorated fabulously. In total, there was roughly 50. Since it was only 4.30am, that meant nobody was around the castle except the Waddle Dees who were doing the usual morning chores. Then, she took into consideration that there was about 100 Waddle Dees in the castle, possibly more. Knowing this, Becca set to hiding more eggs in the castle. "150 in the castle, that's pretty good.." she muttered, happily yet exhaustedly. Now, she had to hide some in Cappy Town and then Whispy Woods. "It's not even six and I'm already flat out shattered." She cried melancholically.
"What are you doing up so early?" A voice said from behind her. By the presence alone, she could tell it was Meta Knight. "Hiding eggs around the castle." She smiled, tiredly.
"What for? Isn't that a bit of a waste of eggs?" He asked, confusedly.
Releasing a sigh from her lungs she explained Easter tradition. "To celebrate, the people of Earth like to hold egg hunts. No, not real eggs but little plastic ones. Then, when you find an egg, you come to the castle throne room and I'll reward you. The rewards are usually sweet treats, known as Easter Eggs. An Easter Egg is a large egg made of chocolate and they come in boxes, usually with a chocolate bar or small chocolates."
"Hmm.."
"Y'know, you can join it. Everyone can join, it's free! No, your age is not an excuse." She laughed.
"Alright then, I'll join it. I'm sure Galacta Knight would enjoy it." He smiled.
Just then, he noticed she was wearing a headband with rabbit ears on it. "Why such an accessory?" He asked her.
"Well..its traditional that the 'Easter Bunny' gives the Easter Eggs out so I'll give it a try. I'm the one giving out Easter Eggs after all. Also, watch this." She lifted her index finger and sparks came out, then the ears moved to her will and were no longer a headband.
"Haha, now I have actual rabbit ears." She laughed. "Anyway, I've got eggs to hide, wanna come?"
Accepting her offer, he followed her and watched as she hid eggs everywhere.

By the time she had finished, it was about 8.am, and everyone started to wake up. Gathering everyone into the centre of the town, she told them what was going on. (Y/n), Tiff, Tuff, Kirby, Meta Knight, Galacta Knight, Morpho Knight, King Dedede Escargoon and all the waddle Dee's were there as well as all the town's folk. "Ahem. Welcome to the first egg hunt in Cappy Town! I'm your host, Rebecca Bethany Starstruck, and I'll explain the rules! I have hidden many little eggs in Dreamland! They're in Castle Dedede, Cappy Town and Whispy Woods. Once you have found one, come to the throne room in castle Dedede and I'll reward you with an Easter treat. However, once you have one you can't get another until everyone else has found one. Also, I won't tolerate stealing. If you steal someone else's egg, you will not be awarded an Easter Egg. Good luck!" She announced.

Everybody was so excited for the egg hunt.

"The egg hunt will commence shortly, you can take a small basket if you are doing this in a group. Yes, yes anyone can join. This includes Waddle Dees. Like I said before, good luck and happy hunting!" She beamed, reassuringly.

Then, a cannon fired.

"Go find em!" She shouted, into the microphone.

Off everyone set, looking for the eggs that had been hidden around town.

(Y/n( went to go scavenge Whispy Woods with the Knight Bois and Kirby. "What do you think the Easter Eggs look like? She never showed us.." (Y/n) wondered.

That was true, (Y/n) was right. Becca hadn't shown them what they had looked like.

"Why'd you think she didn't show us?" Galacta Knight questioned.

"I didn't show them because I thought they'd take the design too literally." Becca groaned to Lillith. "I feel if I had shown them, they would've only gone for the design I'd displayed and they would have dismissed the other eggs."

"Fair point, ringmaster." Lillith said, bowing.
"Oh please, go take your girlfriend for the egg hunt, it'll be fun." Becca suggested.
"Oh, thank you, ringmaster." Lillith smiled, running off to find Lollie.

With Tiff, Tuff, Fololo and Falala.

"What do you think they'll look like?" Fololo asked Falala.

"I don't know, Fololo. Probably really colourful and cheery!" She answered.

"Well, we need to keep ourselves alert so we can find some." Tiff commanded.

"Yeah! I really want that prize!" Tuff barked.

-Back with Becca-

"Why is my throne room filled with these?" Dedede frowned, holding up an Easter Egg.

"Those are the prizes. I would have said to come to my room to claim the prize but that sounds pretty gross and would've been taken the wrong way. I couldn't fit all of them in my room anyway! The Waddle Dees helped me with that problem tho." She snickered. "I'm sorry if you don't like it."

"No, no. It's fine I justed wanted to know." He blinked, calming down.
"Why don't the two of you go off and find some? You have until midnight." She urged.
"That sounds fun, sire. Can we, please?" He asked, timidly.
Sighing, Dedede consented.

Off they went, to the Castle to search.
