Away in Dreamland (Kirby fanfiction)

Back at the castle

(Y/n) walked through the moonlit halls of Castle Dedede, careful not to stir anyone from their peaceful slumber.

It was night on their planet and everyone had decided to get some rest. They'd been so excited to start yet another journey but now, it was over again. Turns out that Marx was just another deceiver who used Kirby for his own personal gain. That had become a common theme for their villains, apparently.

Only the sound of (Y/n)'s shallow breaths could be heard lightly echoing off the bricks that made up the Castle's walls. Brushing a hand up against them, they could feel the dust collect on their hand as they strode onwards to nowhere particular.

A few Waddle Dees equip with spears guarded the otherwise empty hallways. One gave a soft cough as (Y/n) walked on by.

I didn't know Waddle Dees could cough..eh, you learn something new every day.. (Y/n) thought to themself curiously.

You though I was gone, (Y/n)? What an absolute fool you are..

They felt goosebumps on their skin. There was no way that Shadow (Y/n) had returned so quickly..it was impossible.

Their doppelganger came closer, knowing they were frozen on the spot, daring not to move. Softly, they took (Y/n)'s hands in their own as their white eyes illuminated their dark face,"How've you been? Dark Meta Knight better be treating you right.."

Slightly afraid, (Y/n) gave a slow nod to signal they were listening. Shadow (Y/n) gave a chuckle,"My my, you have no problem defeating godly foes who can create black holes by splitting their body in half, but cower when your mirror counterpart pays a visit. What a wuss."

"I'm no wuss!" (Y/n) snapped,"I just thought I'd be alone.."

Eyed by their twin, they could only assume that they were curious,"..by alone I meant so I could think straight. Every adventure comes and goes and the moments were experience are wonderful, but are hard to digest. The excitement is thrilling!" (Y/n) chirped with enthusiasm.

By the time they had finished boasting, Shadow (Y/n) had disappeared into the shadows, fading away into nothingness.

With that, (Y/n) decided that they had been awake long enough to feel tired. So, they made their way back to their room to sleep as the others were doing.

The sun filtered through the blinds and woke the castle residents up. All of them, except (Y/n), were awake.

Including the Ebrum family. Often, Kirby would play with Tiff and Tuff whenever he had spare time. With everything going on, he hardly had the time to even see them. Their parents, on the other hand, he very scarcely saw. Sir Ebrum was the Cabinet Minister, meaning he tended to important, governmental business. And his wife? She was a very nice lady but wasn't half as interesting as her children. Lady Like was more of a say at home wife but knew self defence and could stick up for herself. Despite their intelligence, the two of them had fallen victim to Dedede's previous schemes many a time.

Now, Dedede was a 'good guy' so nobody had to fret about monsters being bought of Cappy Town being blown up for the millionth time.

Coincidentally, that was exactly what Dedede and Sir Ebrum were talking about.

"How can I possibly improve Cappy Town? After all I've done, it's the least I can do.." The King weakly smiled.

The Cabinet Minister gave an alarmed gasp before keeping his cool. He wasn't one to see the King when he was nice and had a twisted view on him. "Well sire, I'm not quite sure.."

"Improvements in Cappy Town, your highness?" Becca piped up.

"Well, yeah..We need some new stuff in Cappy Town to keep tourist money goin'. And, it'd be nice to keep the Cappies happy." Dedede explained.

"Oh my god, I have an idea! We have those massive block thingies on Earth and on the eleventh of November we visit em' and put wreaths of red poppies on them!" Maddie gasped in excitement. "Becca, what are they called again?"

"The war monuments? Why would we need a war monument?" Becca questioned, answering Maddie's previous question.

"The Star Warriors, you half baked chicken nugget! It'll be a tribute to those of them who passed away and the ones that are still alive!" Maddie screeched, making it obvious she was rather hyper.

"Oh, in reference to the guys who died in that war Meta Knight was on about." Dedede boomed.

"Yeah, there should be a monument in Cappy Town that should celebrate them and honour what good heroes they were." Becca agreed.

Sir Ebrum gave a hum of contentment with the idea proposed,"That would be a rather good idea as the Star Warriors did help us a lot..." He mumbled.

A silence filled the air before Sir Ebrum spoke again,"Righty ho then, I'll speak with the Mayor and see what can be done about it."

With a turn of his heel, Sir Ebrum strutted out of the room without another word.

The sisters chatted optimistically with one another, wondering how much work would be put into it and what it would even look like. "Surely it should have their emblem, right?" Maddie asked Becca.

"Well, I was one. How else did you think I knew Meta? What, just pure coincidence?" Becca muttered, displeased.

"Okay, I get it. Now, did you have an emblem or something?"

"Yes. Every Star Warrior had this."

Digging her hand into her pocket, she produced a star, similar to Kirby's warp star, out to show her sister. A smirk grew on her face as she showed it to the two of them,"Every star warrior had one, whether it was sown onto their clothes or clutching for dear life off of their pauldron. It was our symbol, what we fought for, our representative."

"It perfect!" Maddie cheered,"We can have this on it, with the names of the Star Warriors carved into a plaque on the front of it!"

However, there was a subtle problem with her idea.

"You know there were millions of us, right? Now, there's only.."

Becca counted on her fingers and mumbled each word. Once she'd finished, she spoke up again,"Now there's only 8."

"8? Wha'cha mean there's eight?! I thought there was only Kirby and Meta Knight-" Dedede piped up.

"No, there's Kirby, Meta Knight, Myself, Kit Cosmos, Sir Falspar, Sir Dragato, Sir Arthur and Sir Nonsurat. Aaaaaand, Galacta Knight can possibly be considered a Star Warrior too, and Morpho Knight and Dark Meta Knight is only a mirror world adaptation of Meta Knight so in total, that is 11." Becca explained.

"Who are the those other five people? I don't remember any of those.." Maddie sighed.

A/n (Authors Note)

I said this was based on the Anime so if you aren't familiar with those people I mentioned, they're from the anime. They're said to be star warriors and appear in episodes Snack Attack and Fright to the Finish. The backstory for them is they're also Star Warriors who survived and they also want to defeat NME.
