Elaine stroked his cheek. "I'm surprised you're even interested with Paula available, now."
Steve smiled. "She's too skinny for me, you know that.
"She wasn't too skinny the other night," Elaine said.
"I was babysitting, Tommy," he said, reaching for her hand and responding to her touch by taking hold of her wrist and kissing it. "I have no interest in Paula."
"Uh, huh," she said, lightly mocking him.
He rolled her back onto the pillow, pinning her wrist above her head and kissing her gently. He moved his lips over her neck and shoulders, his mouth reaching, exploring her body.
They came together finally, as weather to air: first a quiet storm, showers sprinkling in sunlight. It turned quickly into something stronger, thunder crashing and like lightning striking the earth, he came to her. Repeatedly he struck, muscles tensing, limbs rigid with each strike. The storm raged a long time, until all passion was wrung from their bodies, like moisture from the clouds after the rain begins, drenching everything.
