The next morning she looked up the Miller telephone number in the Yellow Pages. She was in luck, Paula had a land -line; the number was listed and Paula answered on the second ring.
"Hi, Paula. This is Elaine May, do you remember, from last night at gym class?"
"Yes, of course," Paula said. "Hi."
"Listen, Elaine said, "you were asking last night about the contract at the health club? I have some errands to do and if you'd like, I could stop by and show you the one that they gave me."
"Oh, that would be a big help," Paula said. " Do you know where I live?"
"No," Elaine lied.
"On Diego Drive, in Laguna Beach. Do you know where that is?"
"Yes, I think I've been in the neighborhood before."
"Fine. It's number 242 Diego Drive.
"Great," Elaine said. "What time is good for you?"
"About two, I guess. The twins will be down for their nap."
