With Steve at her side the next day, Elaine told Tom what happened, while they were waiting for the Doctor's evaluation at the hospital.

She explained everything as she understood it, that Cass had practically admitted to killing Paula's first husband.

"She was hysterical Elaine, surely you saw that." He said.

"Not as hysterical as she was later," Elaine said.

"Tom, she told you she and Paula were sisters?"

Tom looked down then away. "Yes," he admitted. "It's all been a such mess lately."

Nobody said anything for a moment. Just then Dr. Ellerman approached and took Tom aside.

Tom looked to be seriously disagreeing with the man but finally seemed to accept whatever it was the physician was telling him.

When he returned to Steve and Elaine, he said: "He's recommending hospitalization. He's says she appears to be paranoid and delusional. He's afraid she may be a danger to herself but more likely the woman she calls her sister."
