Alexis' POV

“Are kidding me!” Keana grumbles, throwing the book on the table.

I raise my brow in question as I look up from my phone.

“I can't believe he dies leaving Hazel Grace all alone!” she pouts and folds her arms.

“It's our last day of high school Kee…” Liam states.

“And you choose to use it to read a depressing story we all hate because Augustus Waters dies?” City asks.

“But it's not fair!” she cries.

“Life's not fair sunshine” City says.

Keana rolls her eyes and looks at me.

“The only good thing about our lives is Prom tomorrow night. You guys going?” she asks.

“Well I wasn't going at first, but then a boy asked me so yeah” City smiles.

“Ooooh…” Keana teases making City laugh. “What about you?” she throws at Liam.

“Well, I don't have anyone to go with, so I'm just going to spend my night spying on my sister and that boy”.

They laugh.

Please don't ask me! Please don't ask me!

“Alexis?” Keana asks.

Oh lawd!

“Mmh?” I look up from my phone, pretending to be distracted.

“You're going, right?”.

“Of course she is!” Jared says pecking my cheek and sitting down beside Keana. “Hey people!”.

I laugh.

“She's back together with Colton so of course she's going” he says.

“You're wrong Jarre-Bear” I speak up. “I'm not going”.

They all stop and just stare at me, like a hand just pop outta my ear.

“Why?” City asks calmly.

“Because…”.

I search for a reasonable explanation but find none.

“I just don't wanna” I say and clear my throat.

Keana looks at me with sad eyes.

“You can't miss senior prom Alexandra! Please”.

First time she's ever called me by my full name. Creepy.

“I can” I say, turning back to my phone.

“But she won't” I hear Colton say from my side.
