My cell phone rings. I smile at the caller ID.
“Hey you”.
“Oh I'm sorry Alexis. Are you busy?”.
“No I'm just sitting at the cafe. What's up?”.
“Well, Robert is away on a trip...”.
“Yeah he called me”.
“And I don't leave work for another 3 hours. Can you pick up the girls for me please?”.
“Yeah sure. Of course”.
“Oh thank you sweetie. I owe you one”.
“I'll just send you my grocery list”.
“Funny”.
I chuckle.
“I'll be home late. And I asked Maya to go with the help to our other house and prepare the place for the guest I'll be having so there will be no one at home”.
“Well that's okay. I can pick them up, bring them to my dorm, we'll go out for dinner and I'll get them home safe and sound”.
“You're the best”.
I smile.
“I know”.
“Okay I've gotta go. The woman I'm doing a tummy tuck for is here. I love you”.
“Love you too”.
I hang up.
“Ooh who are we loving?” Lola smiles at me taking a seat in front of me.
“Remember Lola, we're not friends anymore” I tell her.
“Hey you're not still mad are you?”.
“You abandoned me with your psychopathic vampire crush” I lower my voice.
“Look, Kylo's not my...”.
“I don't care Lola”.
I close my laptop and pack up my things.
“I've gotta go”.
I stand up.
“Where to?”.
“I'm babysitting”.
I move towards the door. Walking out of Ho Ho's felt these past few days. I pull my hair in a ponytail.
“AJ!”.
I turn my head and see Barry, Ralph and a couple of their fraternity members.
“Hey” Barry jogs over to me, Ralph and the rest following.
“Hello and goodbye”.
