madelines POV
I'm sitting at the bar on the top deck of the boat.
all around the boat, you will find couples getting engaged, couples who have spent their whole entire lives together.
"want something to drink ?" the bartender asked.
"oh I'm only twenty...not..twenty one.." I smile politely.
"its on me...you look like you could use one..." he smirks.
"thanks."
he hands me something called the Guaro Sour.
"wow..this is good." I smile, taking another sip from my drink.
he puts the closed sign up by the door, and shuts it.
he walks over towards me at the bar and takes the seat next to me. he had to have been mid-20's
"so. whats going on?wanna talk about it?" he takes a sip from his own drink he made for himself.
"my boyfriend...well...ex boyfriend....actually I have no Idea what we are right now.." I say disappointed.
"so you came on this cruise to get rid of him?" he says smiling.
"ha. see. the funny thing is... we came on this boat together.."
he puts his hand on my shoulder in a comforting way.
"tell me what happened." he says smiling, taking another sip of his drink.
i told him everything. I even told him how we met.
"whats your name sweetheart?" he asks as he wipes a tear from my eye.
"madeline." i softly say. this was such a hard topic to discuss, but it felt so good to tell someone about it.
"madeline, he made mistakes.....but he's human. we all make mistakes... and thats a part of life... if he didnt truly love you, he wouldn't have told you about what happened with the girl."
"whats your name.." I ask.
"lucas." he smiles.
"lucas. your such a wise guy..." I say as I get up from my stool.
I leave 30 dollars on the bar.
"I hope to see you soon Madeline. I enjoyed this." Lucas says , smiling as I walk out the door.
"you too.." and then I head to the buffet.
