The person joined early feb. 2022, and I didn't interact with their profile or comment, (mostly because they deleted the comment) But I was just wondering if anyone else got something like this.

But anyway, I'm getting close to the chapter I've been just dying to publish so I'll get on with it. Swear warning. Happy reading :) -

The rest of the school day moved slow, like a crippled turtle.

Elaine and Sabrina couldn't stop talking about their dates for the dance in 6th hour. I was fine with Elaine but hearing Sabrina talk about it made me want to throw up the nothing I ate for lunch.

I was at my locker as the bell rang to leave. I was more than excited to leave school. Elaine tapped me on the shoulder.

"Hey Willow, we need to talk."

Uh oh, she sounded sort of serious.

"Uh sure, what about?" I asked, giving her my best smile.

"Hm, well, maybe it's just a hunch but y'know, I can read people pretty well and, ahh.. I've noticed today you've been getting pretty irritated when Sabrina talks about Hunter, you have since Monday. So I'll get straight to the point, do you have a crush on Hunter?"

Well shit.

Before I could say anything, she put her hand in front of my face, and started talking again. "Okay actually that wasn't a question, I know you like him. And I'd like to talk about it."

I pulled my backpack out of my locker and threw the strap over my shoulder, and shutting the locker, maybe kinda sorta slamming it. "There isn't really anything to talk about."

I started walking away but Elaine followed after me. "Oh c'mon Willow! It's not a bad thing! And I'm on your side!"

On my side? What did that even mean in this situation? I stopped and looked curiously as her.

"No offense to Hunter but I really don't like him and Sabrina together. Like, I've listened to her gush about crushes but she legit will not stop talking about him, it's for real annoying. So I saw your little crush as an opportunity to get her to shut up." She explained, avoiding eye contact.

Wow okay.

"So you're helping me because you don't like listening to Sabrina talk?"

Elaine sighed. "Yeah I guess. My older sister would call me shallow but what the hell? I'm helping a friend and making another friend more tolerable, it's killing two birds with one generous stone!"

"Wait why are you killing birds?" I asked, confused.

"I'm not in the mood for your jokes right now, c'mon lets get on my bus together, we can go hang out at my house." She said, walking out of the school.
