Hunter raised his hand up to stop me. "No, I'm sorry- you're making things up now."

I giggled a bit and shook my head. Hunter and I were laying in Camila's backyard, right underneath a clearing in the trees.

I kept trying to point out the different shapes and things I saw in the clouds.

Hunter thought it was ridiculous though.

"I know you think it's funny but I'm not lying I don't know why you can't see it."

He rolled over onto his side to face me. "Hmm, let me think about it, maybe it's because you're delusional."

I rolled over to my side too, and I faced him directly, my mouth falling open with a gasp.

"Did you seriously just call me delusional??"

"Did I or are you just delusional and  deaf?" He bantered

I looked him up and down and turned away, crossing my arms. "Well it looks like someone doesn't wanna make it to our one year anniversary."

It was late August. Hunter and I got together early September of last year. 

We were both excited to share such a big milestone, but until then, I was going to continue to bring it up.

"Fine. I don't think you're deaf. Or delusional." He insisted.

"Okay!" I replied happily, without hesitation. I rolled back over to face him yet again.

I gave him a quick kiss with a small smile. 

Hunter hesitated for a second. "You have a really pretty smile."

I chuckled. "First you're telling me I'm delusional, next you're complimenting my smile, you have to get your priorities straight Noceda."

I moved my face right up close to his to kiss him again.

"Willow! Hunter!"

I sat right up and turned my head towards the back porch. Vee was standing there with her hands cupped around her mouth.

I looked up at the sky for a quick second.

The beautiful blue sky was one of my favorite things about the human realm, especially in the summer. 

It was nice when you could just lay in the green grass and stare at the sky.

"Sorry to break up the love fest Willow! Mom's taking us back to school shopping!" Vee yelled.

"That's okay!!" I yelled back.

I stood up and brushed the loose blades of grass off my clothes and helped Hunter up.

He gave me kiss and walked off towards Vee.

I stretched my arm out into the air and waved energetically at Vee. "Bye Vee!!"

She waved back, smiling. "Bye Willow!"

After being officially adopted Vee decided that she would start to go to school in the same grade as Luz. I was excited for her!

I walked through the portal and started walking to Amity's house. She invited me to sleep over at her house.

When I knocked on the door, I heard a patter of footsteps before Amity opened it.

"Hey Willow! Come in."

She opened the door fully and closed it behind me. I kicked my shoes off and placed them down neatly.

We talked for a little bit in the entry way until Emira came around the corner and Amity decided she wanted to go up to her room. Sometimes I wished I had siblings but Amity made it sound like a nightmare.

When we walked into her room, I was sort of surprised. 

It looked empty. All the posters and achievements on her wall had been taken down. A lot of her trophies and a few other things were gone too.

"What happened in here?" I asked, looking around curiously.

"Oh, I'm just.. cleaning some stuff out." She replied. 

She was fixing a bouquet of pink flowers sitting in a glass vase. They were the only thing sitting on her dresser beside her mirror.

They were one of the gifts Luz had given her for their one year, since they celebrated a year together a month ago.  

I feel like Luz would've thrown a party for the occasion if she really wanted to.

I swear- I believe Luz and Amity are gonna get married someday and Luz will literally not sleep until the perfect day is planned.

Her and Amity both, really.

But I thought it was cute.

Suddenly, Hunter video called me. I held up my scroll for Amity to see. "You won't mind if I answer this real quick right?"

She shook her head and went to clearing some things from her dresser.

I answered the video call and for a second, Hunter's face was really close to the screen and he was squinting like a really non-technological savvy old man.

He pulled the camera away from his face and held it up above him. 

"Willow! Which backpack should I choose?"

Behind him, there were two backpacks. One had a wolf on it and the other had a pirate Playmobile figure on it.

Amity, who was now looking over my shoulder shook her head. "Neither of them."

I pressed my hand over her face and pushed her away.

"Well which one do you like more?" I asked.

He turned around and looked at both backpacks for a second. "I like this one." He stated.

All of a sudden, Luz showed up on screen. "Hunter, you know I love you right?"

At the sound of Luz's voice, Amity popped back behind me.

Hunter moved the camera closer to him and turned to Luz. "Yeah?"

"Well- Dear brother. I happen to love you enough to not let you go into your junior year of high school with a little kids backpack."

 Hunter waited a second before answering. "Willow thinks they're cool." He pointed to the camera.

Luz gave me a weird look and Amity started laughing. I held in a laugh, deciding not to confirm or deny anything.

Hunter was seventeen, he could- most of the time, make his own reasonable choices.

"Okay, you and Willow can buy matching uh-" She glanced over at the row of colorful kids backpacks. "Wolf backpacks when you're not around high schoolers that will make your life a living hell, now let's go."

She pat his back and pulled him away from the isle he was in.

"Okay, bye Willow! Love you Amity!" Luz yelled down at the camera.

I waved and Amity smiled wide. "Love you!" She answered back happily.

Then the call hung up and Amity and I turned to each other and started laughing.

- this is not my best work, sorry, I accidentally stabbed my hand with a really sharp knife and I was freaking out for a majority of the day because I couldn't get it to stop bleeding.

so I mean at least I have a good excuse -
