It had been a few weeks since Hazel acquired Riddle as her first soulmate. Word had even gotten around that the two were on better terms with each other.

Right now the main 5 students of Heartslabyul and the two Mortishackle students arrived at the cafeteria and Hazel noticed that the students seemed to be riled up for something.

And that something was the Magical Shift Tournament!

Or Magift.

"So what is this tournament about?" Hazel asked since neither she or Grim ever played it.

"You don't know about Magift, Haze!?" Ace asked astonished.
"It's a world-famous sport. They have a professional league and even world competitions." Deuce added before Ace continued.

"Magical Shift... A.K.A. Magift, is a sport played by two teams made up of seven players.
To put it simply, you try to take a disc from each other and try to shoot it at the goal positioned in the opponent's territory. The team who scores the most points is the winner." Ace explained.

"Oh, it's kinda like Quidditch?" Hazel asked.

"Quidditch? Is that a sport from your hometown?" Ace asked.

"Yeah, I even played an important role in it. I'll tell you about it when we have the time." Hazel said.

"Alright then... But I think it'd be difficult to have you guys appear in a Magift tournament."
"Why?" Grim asked.
"Magical Shift is a sport that uses magic. You carry the disc with magic, and all attacks and defenses used require magic as well." Deuce explained.
"Part of the player's appeal is when they exhibit super flashy magic, too~♪" Ace added.
"That is why Night Raven College is a world renowned powerhouse when it comes to Magical Shift!" Deuce explained, adding his input. "A lot of the school's alumni play in professional leagues now! Even more, Magical Shift is a sport that tests not only physical skills but also one's magical skills. Professional teams will be observing our school's intra-dorm Magift Tournament. A lot of renowned magicians around the world will come to watch. There will be a lot of shops lined up during the tournament as well, and they will be exhibiting products from all over the world. It is a very important and exciting event that's broadcast via television worldwide."

"It's televised!? Wow, its a huge contrast compared to Quidditch in that sense." Hazel thought.

"People around the world will be watching!? Then, if I win that tournament, everyone in the world will know about me!?" Grim said in excitement.
"Of course, players who do exceptional and win in the tournament are invited to join professional teams, so it is a given that it comes with popularity, too." Riddle smirked.
"In Grim's case, people will be surprised to see that a monster is participating in the tournament." Trey added.

"Ah, but sadly, Grim can't participate~" Cater said in mock sadness.
 Eh?
"It's an intra-dorm competition, which means you need about seven people to enter.
Your dorm doesn't have seven people, right? That is why you can't participate." Trey pointed out.
"WHAT?! No way....!!" Grim said in dismay.
"There are a lot of other things you can do during the tournament, you know? There's handing out drinks and helping prepare the grounds." Cater said trying to lighten the mood.

"I'm fine with that. I already had my time as a star in Quidditch, so I'm okay with being a spectator. Besides, I think Grim should at least see how the whole game is played before trying to participate once we do have enough members in our dorm." Hazel said.
"I suppose so..." Grim grumbled.

"Yeah... You can't do anything about it since you don't have enough people. You can only hope that more people join Mortishackle Dorm next year, but for now you have to give up on it."

----------Later, Mortishackle Dorm grounds------

"I wonder what this quidditch game is like, Hazel did say she would tell us about it after school." Ace said as he and four other people came over to Mortishackle.

"Wow! Hazel fixed up the place nice~ Though I could deal without the tombstones here and there." Cater said looking around.

"Well, the new dorm is based off Death, so you shouldn't be surprised." Trey pointed out.

"Hey guys!" Hazel said in her old quidditch outfit. "glad you can come by."

After the greetings, Hazel took out a trunk with different balls in it as she explained. "Quidditch is easy enough to understand. Each team has seven players; three chasers, two beaters, a keeper, and a seeker. There are three kinds of balls in the game." Hazel said as she took out one the size of a basketball and tossed it to Deuce. "That's called the Quaffle. Chasers handle that and try to put it through the other team's hoops. The keeper's job is to defend the hoops and prevent the enemy chasers from scoring points."

Then Ace looked at two balls that looked like they were chained. "What about those?"

Hazel smiled and took out what looked to be a hand-bat.

"Trey, you said you're a good hitter, right?" After getting a nod from him, Hazel gave him the bat telling him to be ready and told the others to back away. Then she released one of the moving balls as it shot into the air, and looked like it was flying back. Getting the hint, Trey hit the ball as far as he could. but then the ball returned and Hazel was able to put it back into the trunk.

"W-what was that?" Riddle asked a little shocked of what happened.

"A bludger. Nasty buggers that try to knock the players off their broomsticks. What Trey did was the job of the beaters." Hazel said.

"Oh! They keep the bludgers away from their teammates?" Cater asked earning a nod from Hazel.

"Right. But the most important team member is the seeker, which I was on my team." Hazel said as she took out the last ball, which was the size of a walnut, and looked like it was made of pure gold.

"I only had to worry about this; The Golden Snitch." Hazel said as she handed it to Riddle. "Just wait you'll like it now, but it's faster than a hummingbird and it takes only a trained eye to see it." At that, the ball unfurled its wings surprising the boys as it whizzed around all of them, making them dizzy trying to look for it.

But then Hazel caught it before it could fly off.

"The seeker's job is to catch it before the other team's seeker. The Quaffle is ten points while the Snitch is 150 points. The seeker who catches the Snitch ends the game and their team wins." Hazel said finishing her teaching of the lesson.

"Wow, that sounds tough. And you played your team's seeker?" Deuce asked.

"Yup, I even became captain during my fifth year." Hazel said surprising them further.

For the next hour, Hazel let them practice with the Quaffle and Snitch for the upcoming tournament.

Little do they know that something was going to happen and it wasn't gonna be good.
