You died

When I found out you died
It took a second to settle in
The realization struck
The silence
The loss of words
I couldn't speak or form any words
And when I spoke tears fled from my eyes
My voice choked on itself
I sobbed so loudly
I was sure I would never breathe again
I never forgot the type of pain that this was
The pain of someone dying
It's strange
You said you loved me once
Now you're dead
I haven't spoken too you in two years
But you were my first everything
Now gone and in the earth
I feel numb
Pain
Everything
Nothing
