Coiling tendrils of fear
They creep across my heart
Slither down my back
And stay there
It's empty inside me
I refuse to acknowledge the pain
It's painful to think of a fear
A fear based around someone you desperately love
Things are changing
Will we change too?
My heart clenches
It speeds up
And then slows
Sadly
It is quiet and low
Unsure how to beat
Full of love
Love that brings fear
Because how easily it can all be stripped away
