"SERENA!" juan belted out, bolting over to the girl descending off the private plane with her minimal luggage.
blake and manny trailed slowly, gazing at the familiar, but oh so different sight sadly.
her hair was a soft brown color now. she looked lighter from her skin's lack of sun on the cloudy east coast, but her shadows and tired eyes were more noticeable than ever. the now-brunette's face looked sharper and physique taller, but it was really because she was leaner. arguably, serena looked unwell... but maybe it was just because she didn't have a beach.
new york changed her. she was less bubbly, and more hazy. she enjoyed the lamp-lit nights over the sun-lit days. she would now opt for the subway over a car, just like how she'd prefer a day skating on the ice over an evening wading in the ocean.
