I'm Coming Home

"Hi." Stiles smiled at his computer screen.

"Hi, Babe." Derek replied. His picture on the screen freezing for a moment.

"When are you coming home?" Stiles asked.

"I'm not sure. I think they are extending my deployment." Derek replied sadly.

"Why!? That's not fair!" Stiles cried.

"Baby, I'll be home soon. Just, hang in there, okay?"

"I miss you." Stiles wiped his face.

"I miss you too."

There was silence between the two for a few moments. Derek smiled hearing the pack in the background arguing.

"GUYS SHUT UP!" Stiles yelled toward the others.

"Why!?" Scott replied.

"ARE YOU TALKING TO DEREK!?" Isaac came running over. "Hi Derek!" He smiled brightly over Stiles' shoulder.

"Hi pup" Derek smiled as the rest of the pack walked over.

Stiles sighed listening to them tell Derek about their weeks. Stiles didn't mind, he knew Derek missed the pack just as much. But, this was the first time Stiles was able to talk to Derek in almost a month that wasn't through letters.

"Stiles." Stiles looked up at the screen.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"I love you." Derek smiled.

"I love you too." Stiles smiled.

"I got your guys' care package." Derek said. "Thanks."

"I made sure to put socks in there!" Liam yelled making Derek laugh.

"Thanks." Derek sighed. "I miss you guys."

"Miss you too." The pack chorused.

Someone came up behind Derek making the Alpha mute his mic. Derek shut his eyes. The entire pack being able to make out him saying "Fuck, okay." Before unmuting it as the other walked away.

"I have to go."

The pack frowned saying their goodbyes and leaving Stiles and Derek to have their own goodbyes.

"Be careful Derek." Stiles said sadly.

"I will. I love you."

"I love you too. Come home."

"I will as soon as I can. Promise."

The Skype call ended and Stiles sat staring at the screen feeling a tear roll down his cheek. He felt someone pull him into a hug. He looked up. "I'm okay Scott." He said.

"I know." Scott sighed.

Derek POV

"Hale, let's go!" I heard Patterson yell.

"I'm coming!" I yelled back.

"Have fun on the other side Derek." I heard Jared yell.

"Stay safe." I replied.

"When am I not?" He joked smirking.

"Seriously bro, be safe."

"I will. Now go! This is your only chance. Don't miss it."

I nodded grabbing my bag and running off.

I stood by the window at the airport waiting to board. I just need to get home.
