Okay! So I wanted to do something a little different today

She was unsure of her path...

Ever since she was a young girl, Ariel always thought girls were pretty. She aspired to be like all the pretty women on TV. She wasn't satisfied with how she looked. She felt like she was never enough.
At the age of sixteen, she still hadn't met someone she wanted to date. She felt like the odd one out because all of her friends had boyfriends.
It was a strange feeling. She knew this was what it felt like to be left out. She hated it.
When she turned seventeen, she finally got her first boyfriend. He had black hair and a nose ring. He was called Derek. He looked how his name sounded. There was no surprise anywhere. You see Derek in your mind, and that was him. He had too much hair gel and tried too hard to be edgy and cool.
She dated him for several months before realizing she didn't really like him at all. She liked him, but just not in the way that she'd thought. He got mad. She got mad.
They broke each other's hearts, and they parted ways just like that.
She graduated from high school and entered college. That's where Ariel met the girl. For the first time in her life, she felt a spark. The girl's name was Demetria. She was the embodiment of perfection. Her short black hair fell in perfect waves, and her brown eyes seemed to pull you in. She wasn't terribly tall, and her curves were absolutely gorgeous.
The moment Ariel saw her, she knew she had to say something.
"Hi," she said, despite being terrified of speaking to anyone she didn't know.
The girl looked to her. Their eyes met, and Ariel felt the spark.
"Hello," she replied. Her voice was silk. She could feel the sound melt over her body like chocolate.
"I'm Ariel," she told her, extending her hand to her.
"I'm Demetria," she responded, taking her hand. The moment their skin touched, they both felt a shockwave. They almost recoiled from the feeling, but they didn't. Instead, Demetria shook Ariel's hand, giving her a warm smile.
"Nice to meet you," Ariel said, her voice nearly cracking from nerves.
"Nice to meet you, too," Demetria responded.
"I'm headed to English. What's your next class?" Ariel hadn't seen her before, and she'd been in this university for several months.
"Oh I'm new. I'm not even sure—" she laughed, reaching into her bag to get her schedule.
"I could show you around," Ariel offered without even thinking.
"Oh that would be amazing. I'm so lost," she laughed. Even her laugh was pure perfection.
"I'm free after my English class," Ariel told her.
Demetria finally got the paper out of her bag. She looked to it and smiled slightly.
"Would you look at that? I have English now, too."

I started writing this for school actually. I'm hoping I can make it work
