Part five!!

Present day...

Ariel kept replaying her own words. She wished she hadn't said that yesterday. "I'm not gay." She said in a way that someone would say they weren't guilty. That way someone would speak if it were outrageous that the question would even be raised.
Only that really wasn't the case. The question was valid. Ariel knew there was something, but she couldn't let herself accept it. She would rather die than be...a lesbian. She hated herself for speaking to Demetria that day. She hated everything.
Meanwhile, Demetria was writing in her diary:

I know she's worth it. I promised myself that I wouldn't fall for anyone who wasn't worth it. She's the one. I know it. If only she saw it, too.

She sighed and stopped writing. Looking to her phone, she checked to see if she had any notifications. Her heart dropped when she had nothing. She didn't really know what she'd hoped for. She seriously doubted she would get anything from Ariel at this point. Yet her heart still retained some hope.
She looked back to her diary and continued to write.
Ariel stared at the ceiling, thinking of Demetria. She wanted to get her out of her head. She couldn't stand the thought of her, but she also couldn't stand not thinking of her, either. It was a paradox.
Demetria stared at her diary, the words burning in her mind. She needed to get it all out, but even with it out, she didn't feel any better. Her emotions got the best of her, and she felt herself tear up. She didn't want to set herself up for heartbreak again, but she'd already done so.
Ariel reached for her phone, and she looked to the screen. She wanted to call Demetria. She wanted to apologize for what she said and what she didn't. Her heart clenched in her chest, making it hard for her to breathe. She unlocked her phone and let her finger hover over the phone application. She was ready to call her. But the thought crossed her mind again. I'm not gay.
She stopped herself and put her phone aside. Letting out a deep breath, she got off her bed, leaving her phone lying there alone.
