Missing Her

You're missing your girlfriend...

You think of how her lips feel against yours. You think of her gorgeous curves. You think of how her skin feels against yours. Like pure silk against hot fire. Burning in the best way possible.
You miss her with your whole being. You miss that feeling you get when your thoughts align. You miss that shiver you get when she whispers sweet nothings in your ear. You miss the way your stomach flips when she touches you. Your heart skips a beat every time.
Yet the thing you miss the most is not her body. You miss her voice, her thoughts, her personality. You especially miss her laugh.
She can make your heart beat in rapid fire when she texts you, but only when you're together can you really feel the warm cloud within you. She's not supposed to be back for another few weeks, and you can't wait to hold her in your arms again.
You long for her and her only.

You're asleep when you hear a sound. This is it. You're going to die. It's a murderer who's going to stab you 78 times and steal your jewelry. All three pieces of them.
You grab your phone—it's 2 am. You slip out of bed and clutching your phone like a lifeline, you quietly walk out of the room. The light is on downstairs, and that's when you see her bags by the front door.
"Demi!" you exclaim without even thinking. It just slips out.
"You're awake!" says her voice. She pops her head out of the kitchen doorway and grins. Her long hair is left down, and she's wearing a red blouse. She looks amazing.
"I thought you were a murderer," you admit as you run down the stairs. She stifles a laugh and wraps you in a hug. She smells so good. You missed her scent.
"I'll murder you after this," she assures you, making you laugh. You bury your face in her neck, breathing in deeply. You feel so safe in this moment. You love it.
You could live within her arms and be forever happy.
"I missed you so much," you say, feeling emotional. You can feel tears in your eyes, but you don't want to cry.
"I missed you, too," she says, pulling you even closer. The smell of roses and vanilla will forever be associated with her, and you don't mind. You never thought a smell could be considered beautiful until you met her.
Roses and vanilla will never be the same to you now.
You remain in each other's arms for what feels like forever, but it's still not enough.
You pull away and look at her face. She's even more beautiful than you remembered.
"Why are you home?" you ask, and she smiles slightly.
"I had a few days off and needed to see you." She puts a hand on your face, her thumb resting on your cheek. Her eyes flicker from one feature to another. "I missed your face," she says, making you laugh slightly.
"I missed your face, too."
"And your brain," she adds. "I'm not just dating you for your face, although it's great."
"Right back at you," you say, making her laugh.
"This is why nobody compliments you," she says, and you smack her arm lightly.
"You're one to talk!"
"Yeah?"
"You're the type to respond with 'me too' to a compliment," you point out.
"But what if I also like whatever they liked?" she counters, a smile playing on her lips.
"You still don't reply with 'me too', Demetria," you respond, and she makes a face.
"Let me live, woman."
"You're the one who started it!" you laugh, and she leans in, pecking you on the lips.
"That I did," she giggles.
She pulls away, and you look to the kitchen behind her.
"What are you even doing in here?"
"I was hungry," she says, and you let out a small laugh. The thought of her coming home at 2 am and proceeding to cook herself what looks like pancakes—it's just so funny to you.
"So you're making pancakes?" you ask, and she makes a face.
"Waffles," she corrects.
"Oh my bad," you say as she goes back to making her waffles.
You chat while she makes her waffles, and once they're done, you both sit at the table. You drink some tea and steal some of her waffles as she eats.
You later go to bed, and for the first time in weeks, you wake up to her arms around you. You couldn't be happier.
