Kai Romanoff

The group walked to Care of Magical Creatures.
" Come on. A little less chattering if you mind. I have a surprise for you lot today. Follow me." Hagrid told the class as the followed him into the woods.
They got to a clearing and Kai took off her robes, threw them on a near by rock and rolled up her sleeves. She felt eyes on her and turned and caught Harry staring at her.

He quickly looked somewhere else and tied to play it off. Kai smiled to herself and looked away as well.
" Turn to page 28." Hagrid instructed.
" How do we do that exactly?" A boy with obvious fake blond hair asked.
" Stroke the spine of course." Hagrid said.
Kai took of the leather strap around her book and stroked the spine and it opened it easily.
" See Clint is overdramatic. Just like I thought." Kai said to herself.

" Well I think their funny." Hermione said.
" Oh yeah terribly funny, really witty. God this place has gone to the dogs. Wait till my father hears that Dumbledore's git this oaf teaching classes." The blondie from a bottle scoffed.
" Shut up Malfoy." Harry told him.
" Ooohoooowwo." Draco ooed before stalking towards Harry.
The were face to face. Kai just hoped Harry didn't throw the first punch, cause that would mean Harry would get in trouble.

But then Draco looked terrified and pointed up.
" Dementor, dementor!" Draco said.
Harry turned around as did everyone else only to nothing. Then Draco and his gang laughed as they placed the hoods of their robes up. They ooed and wiggled their fingers. Kai furrowed her eyebrows. What kinda fucking nerds were in her house.

" Da ta da ahh!" Hagrid announced as he brought out a big bird-horse thing.
" Everyone this is Buckbeak. He's a Hippogriff." Hagrid told everyone.
Kai pushed herself to the front mesmerized by the creature.
" Now Hippogriffs are very proud creatures. Before you can go near them you must bow and if they bow back you can approach them. If not, then will get to that. So who wants try?" Hagrid asked.

Kai's hand immediately shot up.
" Very good Kai, Harry." Hagrid smiled.
Kai smiled and looked back at Harry who was looking behind him confused. Kai grabbed his hand and pulled him forward. Harry looked her and she gave him an encouraging nod. They started to bow and walked slowly towards the creature. They had to stop a few times but Buckbeak ended up coming to them and letting them pet him.

" Very good you two. I think he'll let you ride him now." Hagrid said picking Harry up and placing him on the Hippogriff.
He then picked Kai up and put him behind Harry.
" Don't pull out any of his feathers he won't like that." Hagrid said before slapping the back of Buckbeak.
He took off and Kai wrapped her arms around Harry's torso and closed her eyes.

" Okay I'm over it! I'm over it!" Kai shouted.
After a second she opened her eyes and sat up. She looked at the beautiful sight around her.
" Woah." Kai gasped.
" Yeah." Harry said as he looked as well.
Kai smiled and held out her hands.
" I'm the King of the World!" Kai shouted.
Harry laughed and held out his arms too as he whooped and shouted.

Kai wrapped her arms back and around Harry and placed her chin on his shoulder. He turned his head slightly towards her and smiled. Buckbeak began to make his way back to the clearing they were at. He landed and everyone clapped. Hagrid helped them down and Kai couldn't help but smile. Clint was never going to believe this.

" Oh please. Not frightening at all are you?" Draco asked he walked towards the Hippogriff.
" Malfoy." Hagrid warned.
Buckbeak went up on his hind legs and hit Draco's arm. He cried and fell to the ground as Hagrid got Buckbeak away. Kai didn't fell one once of pity for him as Hagrid carried him to the hospital wing. She saw Harry petting Buckbeak and smiled.

" Intriguing isn't? Can anyone tell me what's in there?" Professor Lupin asked.
" That's a bogart that is." Dean said.
" Very good Mr. Thomas. Now, can anyone tell me what a bogart looks like?" Lupin asked.
" No one knows. It takes shape of what a person fears most." Hermione answered.
" Very good. There is a special spell to defeat a bogart. Repeat after me, no wands please.Riddikulus." Lupin told them.
"Riddikulus." Everyone repeated.

" Louder. Riddikulus." Lupin said again.
"Riddikulus." Everyone said again.
" Now what really defeats a bogart is laughter. Neville come forward please. Don't be shy." Lupin smiled.
Neville walked to him nervously.
" Neville what is your biggest fear?" Lupin asked.
" Professor Snape." Neville told him.

Everyone laughed.
" Professor Snape, yes frightens all. Now Neville you live with your grandmother correct?" Lupin asked.
" Yes but I don't want the bogart to turn into her either." Neville said.
" No, it won't. Now Neville I want you to imagine your grandmothers clothes in your mind. Just her clothes." Lupin told him.
" Well she carries a red handbag-" Neville started.

" We don't need to hear it. Now-" Lupin started and then he whispered something into Neville's ear.
Neville looked up at him with uncertainty but pulled out his wand anyways. The wardrobe doors opened and Snape walked out.
" Riddikulus!" Neville pointed his wand at him.
The Snape was wearing old lady clothes. Everyone started laughing.
" Very good Neville. Next Ron!" Lupin smiled.

Ron walked up and Snape turned in a big Black Widow Spider. Kai couldn't help but chuckled lightly.
" Riddikulus!" Ron said.
The spiders feet were now filled in roller skates and trying not to fall. Another girl went and it turned into a snake, then into a Jack in the box. Kai was next. The bogart took a moment then turned into Draykov. Kai hesitated and saw that an older version of herself walked towards Draykov wearing a Widow uniform.

" Your dead. So is that future. Riddikulus!" Kai pointed her wand at the bogart.
It turned into a pair of pointe shoes. Kai let out a shaky sigh and moved to the side. Everyone gave her curious stares. That was till it was Harry's turn. His bogart turned into a dementor and Lupin stepped in. Lupin's bogart was the full moon and he turned it into a balloon.
" Okay class dismissed." Lupin called.

Harry and Kai looked at each other, both with pity for each other. Kai gave him a small smile before turning and leaving the classroom.
