" Quicker, come on. Don't hold back." Steve told Kai from the other side of the punching bag that he was holding for her.
Kai focused more and punched the bag harder.
" Good, now keep a steady rhythm." Steve instructed.
Kai did as he told her and after a few minutes they stopped.
" Good job Kai, here." Steve smiled handing her a water.
" Thanks Steve." Kai breathed out taking it.

" So how are you after-" Steve started.
" Don't wanna talk about it actually." Kai told him before taking a drink.
" I know but the school year is only in three more weeks and you're going to have to face it then." Steve said.
" I know, I know. We have a big mission tomorrow though, I just wanna focus on that." Kai told him.
" Okay, but when your ready-" Steve started.
" I know I'll talk to you, and Nat, and Clint, and Pepper, and Cedric, cause they all told me the same thing." Kai sighed.

" We care about you kid." Steve told her.
" I know, thank you. I'm-I'm really happy that I've finally found a full family." Kai said secretly switching the topic.
" Me too. Now go get cleaned up, we've got another party tonight, for some reason." Steve said.
" You finally gonna talk to the hot blonde that's always staring you?" Kai asked.
" Go shower." Steve shook his head.
Kai smirked before walking out of the training room.

She walked through the tower towards her room. Cedric was walking the opposite way towards her.
" Hey, I need you to meet me in the kitchen after your done." Cedric told her.
" Why?" Kai asked.
" Trust me, your going to want to see what my parents just sent me." Cedric told her.
Kai felt her stomach twist in knots but just nodded and walked past him.

Kai walked into the kitchen and grabbed an orange just as Cedric joined her.
" So what's going on?" Kai asked.
Cedric just handed her a copy of the daily prophet his parents had sent him. Kai read the front page, and looked below at the picture of Narcissa and Draco. Lucius had been investigated and sent to Azkaban, however there was still no sign of Bellatrix.

Kai sighed and sat the paper down.
" I didn't know how you'd feel about this. I mean it's good Lucius is in Azkaban but Draco-" Cedric started.
" Is my cousin and no matter how much of an ass he is, he doesn't deserve this. I just don't know how they haven't found Bellatrix yet." Kai said.
" The ministry and its Aurors are not what they use to be. Back in the first war, people could count on the people in charge to protect them the best they could-now it's all very corrupt." Cedric told her.

" Don't have to tell me that. And what about Dumbledore?" Kai asked.
" What about him?" Cedric asked.
" What about him? How come he didn't show up to the Ministry sooner? How come my uncle died as a criminal, he could have done more to help him. He proved Snape was a innocent and he has the fucking Tattoo, Sirius didn't. He could have proven his innocence. And why did he never think to use a fucking truth potion on everyone knows the order if he new there was a mole." Kai ranted.
" Woah, woah, now your just talking about things you weren't even there for." Cedric tried calming her.

" Well you know what I was there for? My uncle Padfoots death." Kai said.
" So obviously your suspicious of Dumbledore." Cedric said.
" Clearly." Kai nodded.
" If you think he's shady then I believe you." Cedric told her.
" You do?" Kai asked.
" I trust you more than anyone else in the world Kai. And I can help you get more information about him, I've become quit the spy while working here." Cedric smiled.
" Thank you Ced." Kai hugged him.

" You're welcome. I'll do some digging while you guys on your mission tomorrow. But tonight, let's have some drinks. I've had a long week." Cedric said as they pulled away.
" It's Wednesday." Kai told him.
" I know, I'm exhausted." Cedric nodded.

Kai stood in her black suit but instead of a dress shirt she wore a white crop top and black booties. Her hair fell messily down to the middle of her back.
" One White Russian for the White Russian." Cedric winked as he handed her the glass.
" Thanks white Brit." Kai smirked and took a drink of her drink.
" You know, I've learned a lot of things working here. But the most useful is how to throw the most outrageous but still classy party." Cedric said taking a sip of his whiskey.
" Yeah well it matches Tony's personality to a T." Kai said.

" That is true." Cedric nodded.
" So how long has that been going on?" Kai asked looking over at Nat flirting with Bruce and him getting flustered.
" A few months I'd say. I started noticing right after Christmas." Cedric told her.
" Hmm." Kai hummed and took another drink.
" Why? Do you not approve?" Cedric teased.
" Ha, Nat doesn't need my permission to do anything. And if she's happy, I'm happy. Bruce is a good guy, he'll treat her good." Kai said.

" You're projecting." Cedric told her.
" Okay just cause Tony told me that you were good at keeping us in line doesn't mean you have prove him right every time." Kai teased.
" I just think your intense energy could be put towards something else." Cedric told her.
" Oh yeah? Like what?" Kai asked.
" How about the pretty girl eyeing you on your left? Or the incredible handsome guy across the room that I'd even do and I'm straight." Cedric nudged her.

Kai looked at both people, but then she found something or rather someone that caught her eye.
" I think imma hang with some platonic friends." Kai smiled.
" Okay, well I've been eye flirting with the girl in the red dress since I went to the bar. So uh you have a good time, I'm going in." Cedric said staring at a girl.
" I'm guessing don't wait up." Kai smirked.
" Oh how well you know me." Cedric smiled at her before downing his drink.
" Go get 'em tiger." Kai patted his back.

" See you in the morning." Cedric said before walking towards the gorgeous brunette in the red dress.
Kai chuckled as she watched him introduce himself. She shook her head and walked towards Thor, Steve, and Maria.
" Lady Kai!" Thor cheered as she got to them.
" Hey, Thor, nice to see you back on Earth." Kai smiled.
" Me too, I missed the tiny people of Midgard." Thor smiled.
Kai raised her eyebrow in amusement and took a drink of her White Russian.

" Kai, what's that?" Steve asked.
" A White Russian." Kai told him.
" You can't have alcohol your only fifteen." Steve scolded.
" Oh calm down would ya, I'm like you Rogers, can't get drunk." Kai told him.
" Still, it's not healthy." Steve told her.
" Oh come on Cap, she's going through some stuff." Maria said.
" Oh good you know, I was worried the entirety of Stark Industries wouldn't get told." Kai said sarcastically.

" Oh Lady Kai, it's quite alright. We've all been dumped, I mean I haven't. And I have Jane, so I don't know what you're going through but I'm sure the others know exactly what you are going through." Thor rambled on.
" Thanks Thor." Kai said and looked away.
She found the girl Cedric had mentioned still staring at her lustfully. The girl moved her eyes towards the elevator.
" I'm going up to bed, I wanna be fresh for our mission tomorrow." Kai told them.
" I think that's a great idea. Good night kid." Steve said.

" Night." Kai said walking away towards the elevator.
She downed her drink and sat it down on one of the trays the catering was carrying back to the bar. She fixed her suit jacket jacket and made it to the elevator. She pushed the up button.
" Going up?" A silky voice asked.
Kai looked over at her and checked her out quickly but obviously.
" Only if you are, darling." Kai smirked.
She smirked back as the elevator dinged and opened.
