Harry sat on one of the window seats in the corridor exactly at 8:05, because exactly at 8:08 she would walk by. He pulled out his potions book or really the Half Blood Prince's potion book. He read for about two minutes, then he heard boots approaching. Harry peeked over the top of his book and sure enough, Kai and Luna were walking down the hall towards him. His lips tugged into a small smile as he watched them talk.

Usually she was with Draco, or Blaise, so it was nice to see her hanging out with someone that didn't hate his guts. She looked so pretty today, well she looks pretty everyday, but today was different.

So why was Harry being a creepy stalker? Because that was the only way he could be near her anymore. He broke up with her, he made the decision that his life was too dangerous for her to be apart of without even consulting her. He knew this, but Merlin did he miss her more than anything in the world. But he had to keep reminding himself that he'd miss her even more, if she wasn't here.

He wondered what Sirius would have told him if he was here. What advice he would have given him. Harry could have asked Remus, but Remus loved Kai more than Sirius did, and he knew that Remus would have told him that he should have just talked to Kai. But what Harry also knew is that Kai would convince him that she would be okay and that they would make it to the end together. That's probably what his parents thought too, that's probably what Kai's biological parents thought. He couldn't afford wishful thinking.

Kai and Luna walked past him and she looked at him through her peripheral vision. She walked down this hallway every morning at exactly 8:08, because she knew he'd be there. She also made sure to turn to another hall way at exactly 8:10, because she knew Cho would be meeting him at exactly 8:11. It broke her heart to see him with her, but she couldn't go on with her day without seeing him.

It was endless cycle of heartbreak, but it's the only thing Kai had that let her know she still had feelings.

Kai and Blaise made out in his bed after doing ya know wink wink. Blaise pulled away and smiled down at Kai.
" This was the best idea I've ever had." He said.
" I'd have to agree with you on that one Zucchini." Kai said.
Blaise sighed and flopped down on his side. Kai turned to her side to face him.
" So my dear how was your day?" Blaise asked.
" It was okay, I didn't love having to hear Cho plan her Hogsmeade date with Harry." Kai rolled her eyes.

" Ugh she's such a bitch you want me to beat her up?" Blaise asked.
" No it's okay, she'd probably just cry about it and get you suspended." Kai joked.
Blaise laughed as he moved a piece of her hair out of her face.
" You and I should go to Hogsmeade together sometime. Just as friends." Blaise suggested.
" What about your mystery girl? Wouldn't she get the wrong idea?" Kai asked.
" Trust me, she knows we are just friends." He told her.

" You ever gonna tell me who it is?" Kai asked.
" One day, eventually." Blaise nodded.
" I'm not going to judge you, ya know." Kai told him.
" I know, I just don't want to jinx it." Blaise said.
" Fine." Kai sighed dramatically, teasing him.
" We should probably get ready for Transfigurations." Blaise said.
" Yeah probably not the best idea to have an afternoon delight every day." Kai smirked as she sat up.
" But it makes the day so much more bearable." Blaise kissed her shoulder.
Kai smiled, her mind instantly taking her back to when Harry would do that.

" Dumbledore told me he wanted me to let Slughorn to collect me." Harry told Ron and Hermione that night in the common room.
" Well seems like he already likes you after you showing off in class." Ron said.
" You need to find things he has a connection too. Like potions or...I-I don't really know what else he would like." Hermione shrugged.
" Quidditch he likes quidditch, and he's quite fond of Slytherin house, that being his house and everything-" Harry started but drifted off remembering the pictures in Slughorn's house.

" What? What is it?" Hermione asked.
" When I went to the house Slughorn was staying in, he had pictures of his favorite students. He told me about his favorite student-Regulus Black." Harry told them.
" No-no, absolutely not." Hermione shook her head.
" What I didn't even say anything." Harry defended.
" I don't even want you thinking about it, Harry James Potter. She's been through far too much for you to drag her into the middle of this." Hermione told him sternly.
" But ya know if we asked, she'll do it." Ron said.

" That's exactly the problem. Neither of you will mention her parents to Professor Slughorn, and neither of you will mention this to Kai." Hermione looked between both boys.
" Well, she's not even talking to me so that won't be a problem." Harry looked down at the floor.
Hermione looked at Ron.
" I won't say anything. I'll honestly forget by the time I see her. I'll be so busy thinking about quidditch tomorrow." Ron sighed nervously.

Harry's head shot up and he looked at them.
" Oh I forgot to tell you, Kai is coming with me tomorrow to watch try outs. To support Ron. Is that alright?" Hermione asked.
" Yeah, yeah no it's fine-it's good. Just because we broke up doesn't mean you guys can't be friends." Harry nodded trying to hide his eagerness to see her.
" Alright good, I'm off to bed then. Oh Harry also, if you bring Cho around tomorrow with Kai there I will sabotage all your essays for the rest of the year." Hermione stood.
" Uh yeah, understood." Harry said.

Hermione gave him a nod before walking away from them.

" Should I be worried that we are meeting in a dirty broom closet?" Kai asked looking around at the small space.
" I need to show you something." Draco pulled a string and the light above came on.
" Okay." Kai nodded.
" Before I do, I need to know-you and Potter are done right?" Draco asked.
" You already know the answer to that." Kai rolled her eyes.

Draco nodded and took a deep breath. He pulled up his sleeve on his left arm and held it out. Kai looked at his pale wrist and felt her heart ache.
" Draco..." Kai sighed.
" I didn't want it. They made me get it." Draco told her frantically.
" I know, I know." Kai nodded.
" It's just-no one knows about this, and the pressure of keeping it a secret is already too much." Draco explained.
" I understand. It's okay, it's not the end of the world okay." Kai tried to soothe him.
" It's not?" Draco cried.

" No, no it's not. Things-they can still be okay. I can help you, I can help you make this okay." Kai told him.
" I need you not to say a word about this to anyone and don't mention it again, even to me." Draco told her.
" I can do more-" Kai started.
" Please Kai." Draco pleaded.
Kai hesitated for a moment but nodded her head yes.
" Thank you." Draco told her before opening the door and walking out of the closet.
Kai waited a minute then followed.
