" Your depression is really bringing down my sad life." Kai told Draco at breakfast.
" Would you like me to apologize?" Draco scoffed.
" No, I'd like you try and help yourself. I know you're all emo this year, but c'mon. Hey why don't you and I go to the game later today?" Kai suggested.
" You mean go sit in the snow and watch people bash into one another? No thank you." Draco rolled his eyes.
" Fine, how about we hang out later tonight." Kai said.

" After I'm done with my things I usually go up to the Astronomy Tower. If you show, I won't be upset." Draco told her.
" Awe you wanna hang out with your favorite cousin too." Kai teased.
" Oh be quite, you're the only cousin I even know." Draco said.
" I'm your favorite it's been confirmed. Now I'm going to leave so you can't deny it." Kai smiled before leaving the table.

She walked over to the Gryffindor table where, Ginny, Ron, Harry, Hermione and Luna were sitting.
" Hey gang." Kai smiled.
" Kai." Ginny and Hermione cheered.
" Hello Kai." Luna said.
Ron just waved.
" Hi Kai." Harry smiled a little too brightly.
" I just wanted come over and wish everyone good luck today." Kai said.
" Aren't you rooting for Slytherin, since Blaise is on that team?" Harry asked.

This was first time all year he had spoken directly to her.
" And root against my Weasley's? I think not." Kai looked at Ginny and shook her head
" In that case you can come to the after party in the Gryffindor common room." Harry told her.
" That confident that you'll win then?" Kai asked looking at him.
" With me as captain? Absolutely." Harry nodded.
Kai smiled at his confidence, even though it sounded cocky, it drew her in.

" Maybe I'll stop by for a bit then. But I've got to go. So good luck, and Luna my love, my moon, you look amazing." Kai blew her a kiss before walking off.
Harry watched her walk away with a smile.
" Rethinking our decision are we?" Hermione asked Harry once Kai was out of earshot.
" Everyday." Harry said still watching Kai.

Hermione watched as Lavender kissed Ron and he kissed back. Tears filled her eyes and she rushed out of the common room. She ran down the corridor and sat on a step. A few seconds later Harry joined her.
" How does it feel Harry? Seeing Kai and Blaise?" Hermione asked.
" It-it feels like my hearts being ripped out every time." Harry told her.

Steps approached them and Lavender and Ron ran in.
" Oh looks like this room is already taken. Come on let's go." Lavender told Ron before skipping off again.
" What's with the birds?" Ron asked.
Hermione stood and narrowed her eyes at him. The birds flew towards him and smashed into the wall behind him. Ron looked at her before running off.

She sat back down and cried, holding onto to Harry.
" It feels like this." Harry told her.

" Who are you spending Christmas with?" Kai asked as her and Draco played chess in the Astronomy Tower.
" Staying here." Draco told her.
" What about your mom?" Kai asked.
" She has her sister to keep her company." Draco rolled his eyes.
" You could come to the states with me if you want." Kai suggested.
" Can't I have to keep working over the break." Draco shook his head.

" Are you sure?" Kai asked.
" I'm sure." Draco said.
" I think me and Blaise are leaving a day early. His mom is going to get us after Slughorn's Christmas Party." Kai told him.
" Good luck with his mum. She's crazy, has a reputation for being a black widow." Draco moved his knight.
" Then we should get along perfectly, both of us being widows and everything." Kai smirked.

" Shut up." Draco tried hiding his smile.
Kai's smirk turned into a genuine smile and she moved her Queen.
" Checkmate." She said.
" Fuck off." Draco whined.

Harry walked behind Hermione as she put books back in the library and ranted about Ron.
" He can kiss whoever he wants. Was I under the impression that we would be attending Slughorn's party together? Yes, but under the circumstances I've had to make other arrangements." Hermione ranted.
" Other arrangements?" Harry asked.
" Mm hm." Hermione nodded.
" Oh well I was thinking that you and I could go to together seeing as neither one of us could go with the person we really wanted to." Harry said.

" Why didn't I think of that." Hermione sighed.
" So who are you going with?" Harry asked.
" It's-uh a surprise. But we have to think about you. We have to find you the perfect date-not Cho." Hermione told him.
" I'm doing the Cho thing anymore. I took her to Madame Puddifoots the other day and it was miserable. She just talked about Cedric the whole time." Harry explained.
" Finally you've come to your senses. Now look, you see that girl over there? That's Romilda Vane, rumor has it, she's trying to smuggle you a love potion." Hermione told him.

Harry looked over Hermione's shoulder at the girl eye flirting with him.
" Really?" Harry asked.
" Hey, she's only interested in you cause she thinks your the chosen one." Hermione snapped her fingers.
" But I am the chosen one." Harry smirked.
Hermione then hit him in the head with a rolled up paper.
" Ow, sorry kidding." Harry winced.

" You have to be smart on who you ask. Someone who won't be a threat to Kai." Hermione told him.
" I don't think anyone could make Kai feel threatened." Harry smiled just thinking of her.
" You obviously know nothing about a jealous woman." Hermione rolled her eyes.
" I'll find someone. Someone cool." Harry assured her.
" You better, cause you've only got one shot at getting her back. Do it right and you'll have a whole two weeks at the Weasley's with her." Hermione said as they started walking around the library again.

" Sounds like heaven." Harry nodded.
" It will be, for everyone. It's not normal, you two not being together." Hermione told him.
Harry smiled at that thought.
