Kai Romanoff

  Kai landed in Iowa for Christmas Break. She saw Clint wearing a Santa hat and holding a sign with her name on it. Kai laughed and rushed to him, bag in hand. Clint smiled and held out his arms. As soon as Kai got close enough the two hugged.

" Did you miss me Clint?" Kai asked.
" Oh sure, it's weird how many old farts are at base. It's nice to have another young person around." Clint teased
" I bet. Where's Nat?" Kai asked.
" She's at a photo shoot." Clint told her as they started walking out of the airport.
" For what?" Kai asked.
" She's setting up a new identity for her Stark assistant position." Clint explained.

" She's still getting ready to do that?" Kai asked.
" Well they haven't officially announced that their was a new position yet. It will be at least be another month and a half till she'll start her actual field work." Clint said.
" Hm well she needs to take a break and visit me. You know how much hassle it is to get here?" Kai joked.
Clint chuckled as they got the car.

" Okay, okay they even have a creature called a Hippogriff. I have no clue what it is but it can fly and I got to ride one. It was amazing-it was just like that part in How to Train your Dragon, remember. Anyways speaking of flying they have flying broomsticks I've yet to ride one, but it seems fun. And the food-Ugh delicious. Best I've ever had." Kai told Nat all about Hogwarts.
" Hey! I work hard to make this house a home!" Clint called from the kitchen where he was cooking.

" Sorry Clint." Kai called back.
" Sounds like you're enjoying yourself." Nat said.
" I'm having a less miserable time then I thought." Kai told her.
" What about the other kids?" Nat asked.
" I've made a good amount of friends. But I'm closest with three in my grade. Hermione, Ron and Harry." Kai couldn't help but blush.
"детеныш, do you have a crush on this boy?" Nat asked.
" What? Boys?! This early?! I thought we had more time!" Clint said.

Suddenly the door opened and in came Laura Barton, a five year old Cooper and two year old Lila Barton walked through the door.
" Kai!" Lila shouted and rushed to the thirteen year old.
" Lila! Save me again!" Kai opened her arms to the little girl.
She jumped into Kai's arms and they hugged.
" Oh perfect everyone's here. Just in time look what I got at the store." Laura started.

As Lila made her way to hug Nat, Laura placed a headband on Kai's head. Kai stood up and looked at a mirror hanging in the wall. The headband with reindeer antlers tangled in fake Christmas lights. Kai turned to look at Laura.

" Adorable." Kai said.
" Oo I knew you'd love it." Laura hugged her.
Kai couldn't help but let out a chuckled as she hugged her aunt back.
" I want to hear all about your new school." Laura told her.
Kai opened her mouth to say something but her expression changed.
" Is something burning?" Kai asked.
Laura's eyes widen.
" Clint! I let the brownies in the oven!" Laura rushed into the kitchen.

Kai laughed, then someone jumped on her back. Kai caught them easily.
" Gotcha!" Cooper said.
" Very close kid, very close, but-" Kai lend forward and flipped him over on his back onto the couch.
" Not close enough." Kai finished her sentence.
" I'll get you one day." Cooper told her.
" Maybe." Kai teased.

" Okay everyone, the brownies have been saved." Laura told everyone.
" And also dinners ready. Completely unburnt unlike food you might have tonight." Clint teased.
Laura snapped Clint with the hand rag she had in her hand.
" Kids come get dad for talking to your poor mother like that." Laura said.
Lila and Cooper hopped up and rushed to their dad. Clint picked them both up and threw them over either of his shoulders easily.

" Let's eat now please. Without all the dramatics if my family allows it." Clint walked into the he kitchen.
" Watch it Clint, Laura is sneaky. She'll get you when you less expect it." Nat told him.
" Hm what was that? Oh I thought I heard you giving your opinion I didn't ask for." Clint said.
" Now you've made an enemy out of both of us." Nat said.
" I'm shivering in my boots. Let's eat." Clint rolled his eyes.

A smile naturally found it's way to Kai's face as she watched her family. God, she loved being home for the holidays, Kai thought as she followed them into the kitchen.

" And this one is for Kai." Laura said as she distributed presents to everyone.
Kai sat on the floor next to the Barton wearing Christmas pajamas and a Santa hat. She raised her eyebrows and took the present.
" From Clint." Kai read the tag before opening it.
She reached in and pulled out a green hand gun. Kai looked up at Clint.
" Didn't you say your house colors were green? Oo look on the sides." Clint told her.

Kai turned the gun to the side and chuckled, then did the same when she looked at the other side. On one side, was a the outline of a snake and the other side was a black time glass.
" The two most deadly animals on the planet. All in one terrifying girl." Clint joked.
Kai smiled and stood up.
" Thank you Clint I love it." She hugged him.
" Eh it was nothing." Clint said as he hugged back.

" Mine's an extension off of Clint's." Nat told her.
Kai grabbed Nat's present next and opened it. In side were two thigh holsters and four daggers.
" Come on guys, this is really what you give a thirteen year old?" Laura asked.
" It's what we give this thirteen year old." Clint said.
" She doesn't like anything else." Nat defended.

" Oh come on. There has to be something else Kai likes." Laura protested.
" I don't know about something. But maybe a someone, of the name of Harry Potter." Nat teased.
" Okay, that's it. Christmas is over, let's get ready for New Years." Kai stood up.
