The next day Coulson went to pick up Steve Rogers. Kai and Maria Hill took a jet to the hellicarrier base. As soon as they landed Kai saw a familiar redhead below. She smiled as she hopped out of the jet. Maria made her way inside to report back to Fury and Kai walked to Nat.

" I like the short hair." Kai told her.
" Thanks. I had to cut it for my mission. You know Russians-" Nat started.
" They love long hair." They said at the same time.
" Easier to grab and pull." Kai added.
Nat nodded.
" How was yours?" Nat asked.
" Miserable. I actually had to hang out with people." Kai told her.

" Must have been the worst experience of your life." Nat teased.
" Definitely top 3." Kai nodded.
Nat chuckled and wrapped her arm around her as they walked towards the building.
" Romanoff. Tell Coulson that we need him when he gets here!" Maria yelled to her.
" On it!" Nat yelled back.
Maria walked back inside.

" Excited to meet the Captain?" Kai asked.
" Sure. Speaking of which, I gotta introduce you to someone else." Nat told her.
" Okay." Kai said as they heard a jet approaching.
" But looks like we are meeting the old man first." Nat observed.

The jet landed and Coulson and Steve walked out. Nat and Kai walked to them.
" Agent Romanoff, Kai. This is Captain Rogers." Coulson introduced.
" Ladies." Steve said.
" Hi. They need you on the bridge." Nat told him.
" Right. See you there." Coulson said before he rushed off.

" It caused quite buzz around here, finding you in the ice. I thought Coulson was going to swoon. Did he ask you to sign his Captain America trading cards yet?" Nat asked.
" Trading cards?" Steve asked amused.
" Their vintage. He's very proud." Kai told him.
They walked towards Bruce Banner who was looking around nervously.

" Doctor Banner." Steve held out his hand.
" Oh yeah hi. They said you'd be coming." Bruce shook his hand.
" Word is you can find the cube." Steve said.
" Is that they only word about me?" Bruce asked.
" The only word I care about." Steve told him.
" This all must be strange to you." Bruce said.
" Well, actually this is all kinda familiar." Steve said looking around at the agents and pilots training.

" Gentleman, I would step inside in a minute it's going to get a little hard to breathe." Nat told them.
" Is this a submarine?" Steve asked.
" Really? They want me in a submerged metal confined container?" Bruce asked as him and Steve walked to the edge.
" There so cute. Like new born puppies all confused and wide eyed." Kai told Nat.
She chuckled as the base began to rise.

" Alright let's head inside!" Kai called.
They turned around and walked back to them.
" Who are you?" Bruce asked.
" Kai Romanoff." Kai told him as they walked to the building.
" Romanoff? You two are related?" Bruce asked.
" Not by blood." Kai told him.
" She's under my care." Nat told them.

" That's sweet." Steve smiled genuinely.
Nat smiled as well.
" Yeah, you a secret agent too?" Bruce asked.
" Since I was born basically." Kai shrugged.
" Hm might as well be related to you." Bruce looked at Nat.
Kai looked between the two men and then at Nat. She couldn't help but to smiled at how much tension Nat shared with both of them. She shook her head as they walked into the building.

Bruce and Steve looked around in amazement. Kai went to a computer to swiped the screen. A picture of Clint and all his information pulled up. Nat looked over her shoulder and both girls sighed.

Fury started talking to Banner about the tesseract.
" How are we with that?" Banner asked.
" We're sweeping every available devices. Cell phones, laptops, if it's connected to a satellite then it's eyes and ears for us." Coulson told him.
" That's still not gonna find them in time." Nat said.
" You have to narrow your field. How many spectrometers do you have access to?" Banner asked.
" How many are there?" Fury asked.

" Call every lab you know. Tell them to put the spectrometers on the roof and calibrate them for gamma rays. I'll rough out a tracking algorithm basic cluster recognition. At least we can rule out a few places. Do you have somewhere for me to work?" Banner asked.
" Romanoffs. Can you show Doctor Banner to his laboratory please." Fury called.
The girls nodded and walked towards Bruce.
" You're gonna to love it Doc. We got all the toys." Nat told him.
" Plus lab tech." Kai joked.

" Hilarious детеныш." Nat teased.
Kai smiled proud at her joke as they continued to walk to the lab.

Nat, Kai, Steve waited for Loki to exit the museum.
" One, two three four I declare a thumb war-holy shit there he is!" Kai pointed.
Nat turned all the way in her seat and a latch opened. Steve jumped out and Nat started the jet up again. They flew behind Steve and Kai pushed a button that took the guns onto the outside of the jet.

" Loki drop the scepter." Nat told them over the PA.
" Not even going to front he's kinda fine." Kai said.
Then Loki sent a blast at them with the scepter. Nat turned the jet to the the side and barely dodged the blast. Nat looked at Kai.
" Yeah, yeah I know. He's a psychopath." Kai rolled her eyes.
Nat watched Loki and Steve fight.
" This guys all over the place." Nat studied.

Suddenly they heard AC/DC.
" Romanoffs, did you miss me?" Tony's voice came through the inside intercom.
" Guys a handful, but that's pretty cool." Kai said as Tony landed next to Steve.

Loki was captured and everyone got on the jet. Nat and Kai started the jet and started a path back to headquarters.
" Has he said anything?" Fury asked over a call.
" Not a word." Nat said.
" We've got Chatty Kathy Stark back there though, so any minute now." Kai told him.
" Just get him here, fast." Fury told him before hanging up.

" Yes sir. I think he's stressed." Kai looked over at Nat.
" How can he not be with you, me and Barton." Nat teased.
" That's very true actually." Kai nodded.
They flew for another minute without any disruptions until....

" Nat did you check for thunderstorms around this area?" Kai asked as she studied the clouds.
" Yes. Where is this coming from?" Nat asked just as lightning struck just in front of them.
Loki jumped.
" What? Scared of a little lightning?" Steve asked.
" I'm not overly fond of what follows." Loki told them.

Then there was a thud in the roof. Stark opened the back and a man with long blonde hair jumped in. Tony walked towards him but was thrown back instantly. The guy grabbed Loki by the throat and jumped out.
" Now there's that guy." Tony sighed.
" Another Asgardaning?" Nat asked.
" The New Mexico incident. It's Thor, that's his brother." Kai told them.
" We have to go after him. If he frees Loki or kills him the Tesseract is lost." Tony said.

" Wait we need a plan of attack." Steve said.
" I have a plan. Attack." Tony said before flying out of the jet.
Steve sighed and grabbed a parachute.
" I'd sit this one out Cap." Nat told him as her and Kai tried stabilizing the jet in the storm.
" Don't see how I can." Steve put on the parachute.
" These guys come from legend. They're basically gods." Kai told him.
" There's only one god ma'am and I'm pretty sure he doesn't dress like that." Steve told her before he jumped out of the jet.

" Alright, well fuck me then." Kai grumbled as she continued to try and keep the jet from getting hit by lightning.
