Your POV

The longer Jason remained in my presence, the more agitated I became.
"Jason, please get out." I stared at the ground and hid my face, the unpleasant alcohol dripping from my tangled hair and onto the tiled floor. "I need to fix my makeup."

"I've seen you without makeup before, Y/n." Jason grabbed my shoulders harshly and spun me around to face him, I felt his eyes drill into the top of my head as he stared down at me, waiting a moment before I heard his breath hitch. "Look at me."
I immediately shook my head, and my whole body tensed as the anxiety in the air almost made me want to choke.
And at that moment, Jason lost his patience and he shook me by the shoulders, not hard enough to hurt, but enough to let me know that I was testing him.
"Fucking look at me, Y/n."
The tone of his voice already told me that he had his suspicions.
I held my breath, hesitating, before slowly lifting my head and connecting eye contact with the hopelessly confused boy in front of me.
However, the lost expression that was plastered over his beautiful features suddenly turned to anger.
It seemed like minutes before he spoke, and his jaw hung open slightly as he stared at the dark bruise under my eye.
"What the fuck happened to your face?" He said harshly and suddenly, causing me to flinch.

I took a step back, not out of fear, but to try and reduce some of the tension between us. "Nothing!" I said quickly and desperately. "Your ex-girlfriend threw her drink over me, remember? My mascara is running." I made up, covering up the ugly truth with a pretty pathetic lie.

Jason followed my steps, closing the distance between us until my back was pressed up against the cold tiled wall. "Bullshit." Jason hissed, obviously pissed off that I hadn't been honest with him. "I know a fucking black eye when I see one, Y/n."

"It doesn't matter," I yelled back at him, the dynamics of my voice increasing by the second. "Just forget about it."

"Who did this to you?"

I shut my eyes and pressed the palm of my hand against my forehead. "Jason-"

"Who fucking did this to you, Y/n?" He snapped, smacking the wall behind me out of frustration, and just showing me exactly how serious he was.

My eyes widened in horror at his frightening reaction.
"Jason, calm the fuck down." I suddenly yelled, my body tensing as Jason's actions became more physical.
I knew that he would never lay a finger on me, and fear was definitely an overstatement when it came down to situations like this, but when Jason was provoked, I had learnt to be careful and aware of his unpredictable and untameable personality.

"How do you expect me to calm down, Y/n?" He spat, pushing a hand through his hair in frustration. "My pregnant girlfriend has a fucking black eye, and won't tell me who fucking did it."

My heart pounded faster as I desperately thought of an excuse. "Because it was a goddamn accident, Jason."
When the words came out, I held my breath as I realised how unconvincing I sounded. "I was playing baseball with Bella and Will, and Will swung and accidentally hit me with the bat."

I blamed it on Will so that it wasn't all a lie.

Jason narrowed his eyes at me and he inhaled a deep and slow breath through his nose, and studying my face for a moment, until he eventually spoke.
"You're lying to me." He stated, his voice suddenly levelled out, sending me a haunting vibe.

I let out an exasperated sigh and clapped my hands together, interlacing my fingers. "Congratulations on your ability to make a big deal out of nothing." I said flatly and rolled my eyes before beginning to try and push past him. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to -"
