Chapter 40: Part 1

“Jade are you alright?” a worried looking Cesc asked me. I looked at him confused.

“Alexis told me what happened, I brought an ice pack for you,” he said.

“I’m fine,” I said smiling at him.

“Let me see your arm,” he said as I looked at him. “Come on,” he said and I knew I had to give in.

“Where did he hurt you?” he asked me.

“Here,” I said showing him the spot, “See it’s totally fine,” I said shaking my head at him.

“Yeah it looks fine,” he said nodding he head.

“Exact-Ow!” I said as he pressed it.

“Yeah, you’re right, its fine, people always scream like that,” he said sarcastically as he put the ice pack on it.

“Cesc, really I’m-,” I said.

“Does it feel better?” he asked. Well it did feel better with the ice pack.

“Yeah I guess it does,” I admitted.

“Who hurt you?” he asked me.

“Why? You going to go punch him for me?” I asked jokingly.

“If you want, you don’t even have to ask,” he said as I smiled.

“Alexander. He stole my laptop,” I said sighing.

“Well then we need to go get it back,” Cesc said, “I’ll go ask him for it.” Before I could even tell him that it’s ok he already stood up.

“I was kidding!” I shouted at him, “Please don’t go punch him!”

He burst out laughing.

“Are you always so worried about everything?” he asked me.

“I just don’t want you to get in unnecessary trouble,” I said.

“Relax Jade, I was just going to ask him for your laptop,” he said.

“Oh,” I said relieved, “I‘ll come with you.”

“No, relax,” he said in a calm tone. “Just keep the ice on your arm for now. I’ll be quick,” he said and I thought maybe it was better if it was just him. Alexander would fangirl over him and give it back. He would probably pretend like it wasn’t his fault but at least I would get it back that way. Within two minutes Cesc came back with my laptop in hand.

“I got your laptop back,” he said in a sing song voice.

“Thanks!” I said happily.

“And I threatened him,” he said seriously.

“You did what?” I asked him.

“I told him if he ever touches you again, I will break his nose,” he said.

“You told him that?” I asked him shocked and once again he chuckled.

“No! Relax!” he said to me, “But I wanted to, I just said I hope he is treating the new workers correctly,” he said.

“Well thanks Cesc, it means a lot,” I said graciously.

“No problema but you know, now you owe me something,” he said and I knew he was right, he has done so much for me.

“I agree, you have done so much for me,” I said.

“Hmm, what can I make you do?” he said thinking about it.

  “Look as long as it isn’t anything extreme ok?” I said to him hoping it was not something crazy.

“I don’t understand how you can worry about so many things, you know it seems I’m going to have to teach you how to relax much more,” he said.
