Avril Lavigne

"Dean!" An innocent voice screeched out. Sam and Dean had just walked into the bunker after a long hunt, only to find a very excited looking Castiel waiting for them.

"Hello to you too, Cas," Dean offered, confused at the angel's excitement.

"Have you been enjoying Netflix?" Sam questioned. Before they left, Sam had introduced Cas to the shows of Netflix, and had left his computer with the angel.

"Oh yes. I watched everything on it." Cas explained. "Some of the shows were very interesting. But then, after I finished the Nexflix, I discovered something called YouTube!"

"Oh no," The Winchester boys replied in unison.

"There is a lot of good music on this site, and I found the most AMAZING singer and Dean, I think you would really like her." Dean stared at him skeptically.

"What's her name?" He asked cautiously.

"Avril Lavigne. Isn't that a pretty name? She has a very nice voice." Sam muffled his laughter and quietly moosed away to go write fanfiction in his room.

"You like Avril Lavigne." Dean repeated.

"Yes. You HAVE to listen to her, Dean!"

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because I don't listen to that crap." The force of Cas's gasp could've sucked all the oxygen out of the room.

"AVRIL LAVIGNE IS NOT CRAP!" He yelled. "You will love her!" With that, the angel grabbed Dean's ear and pulled him over to Sam's laptop, and hit play on Avril Lavinge's Complicated.

"Sounds like crap." Dean mumbled. Cas yanked on his ear.

"Listen to the words, Dean." Dean sighed, and reluctantly paid attention to the song.

You come, over unannounced

Dressed up, like you're something else.... That exactly what Dean had thought when Lucifer had been using Cas as a vessel! This song was weird.

Laugh out, when you strike your pose... An image of Cas imitating a scene from Risky Business flashed in Dean's mind, and he smiled. 
Take off, all your preppy clothes..... Cas did look nice in his trench coat, but without it- Wait, WHAT was he THINKING!??!

"So?" Cas's eager voice asked. "Isn't it great?" Dean shook off his daydream and glanced at Cas.

"It's not total crap." He admitted reluctantly. Cas broke out into a huge smile.

"Oh, you should hear Smile! It reminds me a lot of me and you." 

"Alright." Dean agreed.

For the next few hours, the two of them listened to Avril Lavigne. 

Then, to Sam's horror, they started to sing it. 

And then there was suddenly a cassette tape of Avril Lavigne stashed in the Impala, although Dean would never admit to listening to it in front of Sam.

 And then there was the day that Dean came home with two tickets to an Avril Lavigne concert, and Cas screamed so loud that Sam was sure he'd be permanently deaf.  

And then the two of them came back from the concert, grinning like idiots in Avril Lavigne T-shirts, and they were freaking out because Dean's fake FBI badge had gotten them backstage, and they had gotten to meet her and there were about a dozen selfies with Avril Lavigne on Cas's phone. 

And then there was the day that Dean was just, far too happy and he admitted that when Avril's What The Hell came on the radio, he had kissed Cas.

And whenever the two of them fought, Cas would walk slowly around the bunker, humming Complicated.

And whenever a girl would hit on Dean, Cas would immediately start belting out "Hey Hey You, you, I don't like your girlfriend!" and then there was the one day that Cas got hit on, and Dean started singing the song in front of the whole bar.

Cas put up an Avril Lavigne poster in Dean's room shortly after they started sharing a bed, even though Cas didn't sleep.

When nightmares or bad thunderstorms got to one of them, the other would softly sing whichever song came to their mind first.

Dean proposed to Cas at their fifth Avril Lavigne concert, and Cas practically cried.

They danced their first song at the wedding to Smile, which had been deemed their favorite song.

When they adopted a little girl, her middle name was immediately declared Avril, in honor of the woman that brought them together.

And, through the power of Avril Lavigne, Destiel was brought together.

Sam later claimed that his greatest life's accomplishment was leaving his laptop with Cas.

He never did that laptop back.
