Alexis had written to Mrs Weasley at The Burrow asking her if she could pick up a dress she'd ordered from Diagon Alley a few days ago. Lexi couldn't be arsed in the holidays to find a dress when she didn't even know why she needed one.

So, here she was, sitting on her bed with a large box in front of her, Angelina, Alicia, Katie, Hermione and Ginny all crowding around her, waiting for the box to be opened.

"Go on then!" Ange encouraged her.

Lexi proceeded to lift the lid off the box and all six girls marvelled at the sight of the dress.

"You're going to look amazing!" Alicia exclaimed.

The oldest potter smiled, "Let's hope he likes it..." she whispered to herself.

A few days before Christmas, Lexi and Harry received letters from Sirius each, his was about the task, but Lexi's was different.

Lexis,

I've been informed that the Yule Ball is on Christmas Day. I know how much Lily and James would have loved to see you in your dress with your date. I'm betting you'll look just like your mother!

I hope you write me and Moony afterwards telling us what you'd have told them. Don't forget to take a photo for us!

Missing you lots my girl,

Padfoot

Alexis had tears in her eyes by the time she finished the letter, she had wanted to have her parents be the ones sending her letters about this, but her godfathers were just as great.

"I'm glad you asked me," Lexi said to Cedric later as they walked by the lake.

Cedric swung and arm over her shoulders, "I wouldn't have asked anyone else, love."

The girl smiled, "What about Cho? She seems to fancy you."

The Hufflepuff laughed, "No, she may like me, but I don't like her. Anyway, I heard she was going with your brother."

Lexi nodded, happy with his answer, "Yeah, she is... though, I'm not sure she likes Harry for him, y'know?" Cedric nodded, "Like, she jumped at the opportunity to go with him right after you said no again. I think she just likes him for his popularity..."

She had said the last part quieter, to herself nearly.

"He'll be okay," Cedric comforted her, "He's a smart kid."

Lexi scoffed and started laughing, "No he's not! Have you even seen his grades?!"

Sorry it's late guys! I started school last week, then had to get COVID tested today, and have been super distracted because my sister came home for the weekend and I haven't done ANY writing either
