Later that evening, before Lexi was about to head out to meet Cedric for their night rounds as Head Boy and Girl. She was cornered by a mass group of her friends. All of them. The twins, her brother and his best friends, Katie, Lee, her two roommates, and Ginny.
"You liar!" Harry.
"Why didn't you tell us?!" Hermione.
"How did Stimpson know?" Fred.
"It's been two years!" Angelina.
To quiet them down, Lexi held up her hands and made a shushing noise with her mouth. They immediately ceased all sound, but the betrayed looks on their faces remained.
"Okay, first off, it's not that hard to figure out." She folded her arms, "There's a list of all 'twelve O's' achievers in the trophy room—that's how Patricia found out." The people around her looked as if they'd been slapped in the face.
Lexi laughed, "And I didn't tell you's because I knew this would happen —" she motioned to the little gathering they were having in the common room "— an-and what are you talking about? What are you even doing? I told you!" she pulled her eyebrows together as she frowned with confusion at Ginny.
Then they rounded on her.
"You knew?!" Ron.
"You told her and not us?!" George.
"Who else knows?" Katie.
"I can't believe it!" Lee.
Ginny held her hands up in defence, "Hey! I wanted to be in on the fun."
Lexi rolled her eyes, "Of course, Gin. The teachers know, obviously; Cedric knows, Moony and Padfoot, and... anyone who checked the list."
Lee blinked several times, "So, you told your boyfriend, godfathers, and Ginny... but not your best friend?!" he pointed at himself.
George and Fred shouted a 'hey' and pointed to themselves too, then so did Angelina.
"What about me? I'm your brother!" Harry said.
"No, I told Cedric—at the time he wasn't my boyfriend—I tell Moony and Pad everything, I told my sister —" she indicated Ginny then turned to Harry "— and I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to feel pressured by my scores. I didn't tell anyone else because I don't want to be validated by my academic success."
Silence.
"Now, if you're all done reprimanding me, I need to patrol..."
"Harry, what are you still doing up?" she asked her brother when she returned from her patrol.
The boy jumped at the sudden sound of her voice, he was alone in the common room and didn't hear her come in. "Uhm, thinking..."
Lexi sat beside him on the couch, "Thinking about what?"
"Hermione and Ron asked me to teach them and some other people Defence Against the Dark Arts seeing as we're not learning anything with Umbridge." He mumbled.
"I think that's an awesome idea!" Lexi grinned. Okay, so the idea was dangerous (she agreed for the cause) but if only to boost Harry's thoughts on it.
Harry looked up, "Really?"
"Yeah! They're right, we're not learning from Umbridge, and you've seen it, fought it, why don't you teach us?"
He was quiet for some moments, "If I do agree, would you help me with it? I mean— you have got twelve OWLs."
With a roll of her eyes, Lexi agreed, "Just... just think about it, okay?"
"Yeah."
