I nodded and took the camera, passing it off to Corey who was behind me now, next to the girls. I looked up at the statue one more time. The eyes seemed to be glaring into my soul with their blank granite stare, as what looked a helluva lot like blood dripped from them. I shook my head in denial. This wasn't possible. There was no way. We've had experiences before, scary things happening to us, but nothing like this. "Colby! NOW!" Sam yelled. He and Jake were grabbing the toys, trying to grab them before the wind tore them away from us. It was getting stronger by the second. "Is it normal for the wind to be this bad?" I asked, yelling over the noise. T shrugged her shoulders, and pulled my jacket tighter around her. "I don't live here Colby, I have no idea! It's never been this bad when I visited though. This is insane.'' "Is that blood? No, but like is that ACTUAL FUCKING BLOOD?" Denise stuttered out, her voice almost being lost in the wind, as she stared up at the statue. Corey grabbed her arm, and pulled so that she was facing him, instead of the statue. "Don't look at it. We're leaving. Don't worry," he replied, his own voice shaking a little. It was a little strange to see Corey trying to calm someone down. He was usually the one that needed the calming. Denise nodded a little, then buried her face in his chest. His arms came around her, and he stroked her hair down her back, but kept his eyes on the statue. I glanced back up at it and shivered. This was intense and fucking crazy. I watched as the thick, black looking liquid dripped from the little girl's blank eyes. I was kind of glad it was dark, so that I didn't have to see whether or not the liquid was red. There was no way that I was shining my light at it. Sam had already gotten it on camera so I didn't need to do that either. "Wanna help us out here Colby?" Sam exclaimed, his voice a little frantic. I looked at him and noticed that the wind of blowing most of the toys back off of the grave, even the heavier ones. The force of it was almost blowing me sideways so I wasn't surprised. "Yeah, sorry," I replied, and started grabbing the toys. "One of us needs to make sure they stay where they are supposed to. This was a bad idea," Sam yelled, pointing to the grave where the toys were steadily getting blown away from it. "On it," Jake said, jumping over to the grave. He piled the ones that were close back on top of the cement, then lay his arms across them. "Hurry," he replied. Sam and I started just tossing them to him, except for the ones that might break. We were careful with the items, not wanting to disrespect them, or cause any more mischief. Finally, all of the toys were back where they belonged, except for one. The doll with the cracked face. I picked it up, and walked over to Jake, as the wind howled even louder, and stronger, pushing me to the side, so that I fell into Terra. "Oh!" She exclaimed in surprise as my arm connected with her shoulder. She grabbed me with both of her arms and helped me to steady myself. "Thanks," I said, catching her eye for a second. She was terrified, her aqua eyes wide, and glassy. I had never seen her this scared, but she was holding up really well. I could tell she was trying not to show it. Just made me love her more. Love? No, not love. Couldn't be. Now was not the time. I broke eye contact with her, and pushed myself towards the Jake and the grave. He was literally lying over the toys now, so that the wind didn't blow them off. "Hurry the fuck up Colby!" He yelled, meeting my gaze. I finally made it to him, the wind seeming to get stronger the closer I got. I fell to my knees beside the grave, and placed the doll at the head, sitting on top of the grave, propped against the base of the statue. The wind died just as suddenly as it had came, leaving the graveyard in an eerie silence. "Well that was very climactic," I said dryly, hearing my voice echo around in the dead cemetery. "Shhh," Terra whispered, glancing around her. "Why?" I asked, my voice sounding very loud. "These people are dead. They're gonna hear us whether we whisper, talk, or yell, if they want too." She glared at me "Well, I don't want to wake up the fucking zombies that want to eat our brains okay Colby?? After that, I don't want to take any chances," she whispered. I couldn't stop the laughter that bubbled up in my throat. The adrenaline rush from what had just happened, and the relief that nothing serious had happened to any of us, had me elated. Sam joined in, the relief evident in his face. Jake just stared at us while Corey started giggling, and Denise and Terra just looked at us like we had lost our damn minds. Terra shook her head. "I'm going to the car. You guys are lunatics. Come on Neece," she said, linking her arm with Denise's and pulling her away from Corey. They headed out into the dark cemetery. "Hey, wait up! It's not safe to be alone," I yelled, once again feeing a little creeped out at how silent the cemetery was now. "Not alone. We have each other," she yelled back. I pinched the bridge of my nose, and sighed. "Come on guys, before the zombies do try to eat them or something." We made sure that everything was where it was supposed to be, made sure that we weren't leaving anything, and jogged up behind the girls. We didn't speak as we all walked back through the darkness to where the car was. I heard Terra sigh when the car finally came into view.
