Eve

Timeskip 2 weeks:

It was Christmas eve, and both you and Harrison were at home with Ethan and Arthur. It didn't happen very often that you were all together as a family for an entire day, so when you had the time, you treasured every minute.

"Ree!" Ethan shouted as he examined all of the glittered and shimmering decorations of the Christmas tree.

"You love the tree don't you Ethan? What do you love Arthur?" Harrison enquired to the twins, whose onesies not only match each other, but you and your husband as well.

"Mama!" Arthur laughed, running up to your lap.

"And what else do you love just as much as mummy?" You asked him.

"Soos!" He exclaimed and Harrison swiftly scooped him up onto his lap.

"And..." Harrison prompted whilst you giggled.

"Dadda!" Arthur finnaly uttered the words his father wanted to hear.

"And daddy loves you too." Harrison laughed, putting Arthur back on the floor where he prompty ran over to Ethan, who had a bauble in his hands which he had managed to successfully remove from the tree. They were both glaring at it, completely in awe. You presumed it was because it was almost like a mirror and they could see their reflections.

"I think tomorrow will actually be really fun!" Harrison told you.

"I think so too. I mean, what better way to spend a Bondi Christmas than down at the beach." You agreed.

"Ook!" Ethan demanded, standing between you and Harrison and showing you their beloved ornament.

Upon closer viewing, you could see that it wasn't mirrored, but did contain a picture of the twins from their first Christmas when they were a mere three months old.

Looking at it made you almost tear up at how far they had come from being tiny babies to virtually being toddlers.

Off course, you had enjoyed every stage of their development so far, but at fifteen months old, they could do so much, say so much and were developing their own characteristics and personalities which you and Harrison both loved to see.

"Do you know who that is baby?" You asked Ethan, who didn't understand the question and just looked quizzically at you.

"It's you and Artie from when you were little babies." Harrison informed him. Ethan took the ornament back and just stared at it.

He was concentrating so hard that you could see tiny frown lines on his forehead.

After another couple minutes of scrutinising the item, Ethan's eyes started to look heavy, and Arthur began to yawn.

It was seven o'clock which was half an hour earlier than you would normally put them to bed, but they had had a very busy day with lots of visitors, which always wore them out.

"I think it's bedtime." You stated and Harrison nodded in agreement.

"Yep, they're already in their pyjamas and they've had their teeth cleaned so we are good to go." He added, picking a drowsy looking Arthur off the floor, you did the same with Ethan, who was still clutching the decoration. They must have been fairly tired because neither resisted being placed into their cots like they would usually.

"Do you know whose coming to see you tonight baby boys?" You questioned them, gently prying the item Ethan was holding in his fingers.

After no response, Harrison leant down in between the cots and said in a quiet and excited tone, as if it were a secret:

"Father Christmas."
