"You've done well Mr.Lightwood. I guess Magnus has been reading to you every night? It's been almost a month."
'Please call me Alec please. And he has been reading. I can get small words out but with only a stutter.'
"Well at least it's progress......Alec. So how have you felt during this time?"
I look up at the doctor and smile,
"O-Okay."
The doctor looks at me in shock, "Alec! You actually spoke!"
'I know. I wanna get better at speaking. I want to surprise Magnus. I've only spoken small words when he hasn't been home.'
"That would be a wonderful gift. I'm so happy for you Alec. Do you want to keep practicing now?"
"Y-yes." I say with a smile
