"Mike!" Ashton called out suddenly, making you look toward the direction of his voice.

You and Michael had just arrived at the fairgrounds, looking around for the friends that had left before you. You smiled upon seeing Maria's head of bright blue hair, and Michael threw his arm up to rest on your shoulders and led you to the group seated at a picnic table.

"Hey!" one of the people you didn't know said as you approached, "We thought you guys were never gonna show up!"

"Not my fault the slowest train in the world came out of nowhere," Michael said, making you snort softly, "I'm sure you've all been introduced to Maria already, but this is my neighbor Y/N."

"I know you mentioned having a cute neighbor, Mike, but you never said she was this cute," the redheaded boy smiled at you.

You rolled your eyes fondly with a light blush – Michael said you were cute...? – completely missing the way his jaw tightened, but not missing the way the arm already around your shoulders brought you further into him.

"Kitten-" The emphasis Michael put on your nickname made you glance at him, only to find his gaze still set on the boy in front of you. "-this is Tommy, Alli, and Rey."

"Hi," you said softly with a small wave – you were truthfully pretty quiet when first meeting people. You found yourself shyly pressing your body further into Michael, again missing the smirk he gave to his friend.

"So what do you guys want to do first?" Rey asked, "I personally recommend getting food after you've ridden all the rides."

"I second that," Maria chirped, "I am not gonna have a repeat of the time I was 7."

"What happened when you were 7?" Calum laughed. You snorted under your breath once again.

"Let's just say the kid next to her on the Tilt-a-Whirl didn't emerge unscathed," you snickered.

"It's literally the only thing I remember from my childhood," Maria let out a loud laugh while everyone else just chuckled.

"Well, I say we go on the carousel first just to warm everyone up then," Alli suggested, and the group immediately agreed, standing up to do exactly that.

Michael's POV; Two hours later

"Would you even believe it?!" Michael shouted, throwing up the arm that was holding onto a small stuffed Pikachu, "I finally won this stupid thing after 4 years!"

"Yeah, and it only took you $20 to do it," Calum laughed as you all walked away from the game's booth. You found a different grouping of picnic tables and sat down, wanting to rest before going to another game.

"You could have bought it for cheaper at an actual store," Rey reminded him.

"I've been waiting for 4 years for this moment, and your logic is not going to ruin that for me," Michael narrowed his eyes at her.
