"Thanks for this, Mom," you murmured as your mother pulled through the entrance to Camp Rock.

"I'm glad we were finally able to do it for you, honey," she smiled, reaching over and patting your knee, "And not to toot my own horn or anything, but the food is gonna be a million times better than any other year."

"You don't even know what the food from any other year tasted like," you laughed quietly, letting it fade as you stared out the window in awe.

You'd never been to Camp Rock before, but you'd always wanted to go. You were pretty good at songwriting, but you'd lost your motivation in recent months, so you thought going might help bring it back.

Your parents had originally told you that they just didn't have the money again, but soon surprised you with news that your mom's catering job had been hired for the camp that year and they were sending her. You instantly started crying, so incredibly happy that the only thing you'd ever wanted to do during the summers was go to Camp Rock – and you were finally getting to.

"We're here!" you couldn't help but squealed as your mom pulled into the parking spot nearest the kitchen door. She smiled again, shaking her head and following your lead in getting out of the catering van to grab your bags.

Your mom led you to the cabin you'd be living in for the next two months – the one closest to the mess hall, though it was still a pretty decent ways away. The moment you opened the cabin door, you breathed in the scent of the wood used to build it. You closed your eyes and smiled softly to yourself – you were actually here – before taking a better look around the room.

"Ooh, bed by the window! Called it!" you gasped, running over to it despite the fact that your mom obviously wasn't going to fight you over it.

You heard her simply chuckle to herself while she went to the bed on the opposite wall. You grunted upon lifting your suitcase off of the ground and plopping it onto the bed.

It was at that point that you really took a good look around the cabin. There was a door to the bathroom in a tiny hallway directly across from the front door, and a bed nestled against the corner beside it. You then took notice of the bright red suitcase underneath the bed.

"Whose is that?" you tilted your head, making your mom look at you. She followed your gaze but before she could respond, the bathroom door opened.

A curly-haired brunette was wiping her hands on her jeans as she exited the room, only to jump slightly when she realized there were now people there. She squeaked in surprise, making your mom chuckle again.

"You're Caitlyn, right?" she asked the girl.

"Yes, ma'am," she nodded, "You're Connie?"

"New camp cook, at your service! This is my daughter Y/N," she motioned to you before turning to look at you, "Sweetheart, this is Caitlyn. She volunteered to help in the kitchen this summer, so we're all sharing this cabin."

"Oh, hi!" you perked up, "It's nice to meet you!"

"You're new here at camp this year too, aren't you?" Caitlyn smiled.
