well, at first, tom wouldn't tell them, for two reasons.

1: for their safety

2: he didn't want to scare them off

so he told them he was a business man, and he works with the royals, or whatever.

so when he did tell them, of they flipped out, but he then explained why he kept it from them ,and then they were pretty chill with it. but still on the fence. they were just happy that their daughter is safe and happy :)
