Pen Name: Auburn Morrow

Username: ASMorrow

Is your pen name your legal name? If no, then how did you make up one?

It is my legal name! Even if it doesn't look real, haha. My full name is Auburn Starr Morrow and I'm not kidding.

How many books have you published till date?

I've published two books professionally, but all together between ASMorrow and another account I have for Adult Romance: 10 books!

What are your future projects?

I REALLY want to write a weird mystery novel that's inspired by 80s horror movies but is still funny and romantic. I just want my books to get strangers. The first chapter is actually on my profile right now called Cruel Summer.

What is writing to you?

It's everything. I have all these stories and characters welled up inside of me and I have to release them all or I'll go crazy. It brings me incredible joy and I don't feel right if I haven't written at least a little every day.

Is being an author, your long time dream or a hidden passion you found out later?

I've always wanted to write stories somehow. I wrote my first three books in high school and that was it! Haha. I'm unfit to do anything else.

What genre books you like to work on?

I'm writing my FIRST contemporary romance ever and it's Hell, haha. I love the story, but I don't think I could do it again. I've always written fantasy books and almost always Young Adult or New Adult.

If we challenge you to write a book of another genre we suggest, then would you take it up?

Ooohhh. I love suggestions. I don't know if my idea would end up in the same place as the suggestion, but I always build upon one little idea until I have a huge story. It's like an avalanche.

Then we would love to read a Superhero Romance book from you soon.

Writing is a reality that paints a beautiful fantasy. What do you think are the charms of writing fiction/non fictional books?

Fiction is such a wonderful way to escape and immersive yourself in a different world. But Nonfiction books can be surprising! I love learning about the smaller details from history. If I'm interested in something, I wanna know everything.

Who are your favorite authors in and out of wattpad?

evanfrancisco on Wattpad was my first love. He wrote "Inside Out" and it's the first book I ever bought from a Wattpad author. I still have that book on my shelf! Outside of Wattpad it will always be Diana Wynne Jones. I read Howl's Moving Castle at least three times a year.

Name few of your close wattpad friends.

This is going to sound so sad, but I don't have any Wattpad friends, haha. But I will shout out zeeadaj who has the very best suggestions and reading lists.

What is your favorite series you have recently watched or read?

This is such a difficult question! Well, I'm loving the new Nancy Drew TV show (I'm a sucker for the video game) and I'm currently reading through Shannon Messenger's The Keeper of the Lost Cities series. It's everything and I'm so jealous I didn't write it.

Who is your favorite actor/actress?

Lily James. She's so soft. So beautiful. And oh so charming.

Who is your favorite Villain you couldn't help but love?

The Witch of the Waste from Howl's Moving Castle. She was evil for her own personal gain and still had such STYLE and CLASS. What an icon. I will also always be soft for Luke Castellan from Percy Jackson. I love a redemption arc.

What are your hobbies other than writing and reading?

I'm terrible at video game, but I have so much fun playing them. Just finished playing all the Uncharted games and I'd kill a man for a movie.

What are your hidden talents?

Weird flex, but I can constantly pop my ankles. I'm also quite talented at not texting people back.

Who is your first celebrity crush?

Lily James. Lol. I also think I've never stopped crushing on Kristen Stewart.

What is the most embarrassing situation that you have ever been through?

I'm actually going through it now. Since it's fresh, it feels like the most embarrassing. I started a new job, which means I feel mediocre. It's frustrating that I'm not already perfect, but I know I'll get it eventually!

One craziest thing you have ever done?

Wow. So many things came to be at once. Uhhh... Once, I got suspended from work for a full week because I lost a bunch of money (really wasn't that big of a deal). So, I decided to rent an Airbnb in Tennessee, choosing to stay on someone's couch for three nights for twenty bucks a night. I went by myself and explored Tennessee. Turns out the couch owners were in a band and decided to show me the bar scene. They bought all my drinks and I had one of the wildest nights ever. All because of a whim. The next day I went to the local library and saw Victoria Schwab at a book signing. Lol.

There are many authors who just started their journey and many readers who want to write but has no courage to do so. Please give them a tip and a word of encouragement.

Don't worry about the readers. Readers will come naturally and over time. I started with zero. We all start at zero. Just have fun writing and finish the book. Finishing your first book is like unlocking the secrets of the universe and you'll be able to suddenly finish more books. Write what you want to read!

Last but not the least, have you ever dreamt of writing your own comic?

YES. Did you read my diary? I'm like somewhat artistically gifted and actually tried making my current WIP (30 Day Trial Period) into a comic, but I don't have the patience. I'd KILL to write for a comic and work with an illustrator. Comics and Manga are what helped me form my writing style the most.
