Pen Name: Zuzanna Darkbloom

Username: witchoria

Is your pen name your legal name? If no, then how did you make up one?

No, it isn't. I just liked the name Zuzanna from a book I read once, and then Darkbloom from another.

How many books have you published till date?

On Wattpad, I just started my 11th for Nanowrimo. But I've got some short stories posted here and there on the internet.

What are your future projects?

I have no idea, yet. Right now I'm just trying to meet my word count for my nano project.

What is writing to you?

It's an escape, and it's an opportunity to write stories I want to read that no one's written as far as, "I want this to happen, this, this, and then this."

Is being an author, your long time dream or a hidden passion you found out later?

I used to write short stories as a kid. Short, because I often got bored and went on to the next thing. It wasn't until my freshman year of college I was bored in my 8:30 Intro to Criminal Justice class that I started writing out a scene in my notebook that later turned into a fully-fledged novel.

What genre books you like to work on?

Anything that suits me at any time, I guess. I'm fond of the NA Romance genre, but I don't stick to it. There are some romantic aspects in all my novels, though.

If we challenge you to write a book of another genre we suggest, then would you take it up?

If I could think of something, probably!

Then we would love to read a Paranormal Romance book from you soon.

Writing is a reality that paints a beautiful fantasy. What do you think are the charms of writing fiction/non fictional books?

I'm not huge on non-fiction books, but they do tell stories sometimes. I do like reading about the Salem Witch Trials and Ancient Egypt. With fiction, I can tell a story how I want it, and I can change history into something alternate, there's a lot of free reign where possibilities are infinite.

Who are your favorite authors in and out of wattpad?

I'm partial to Richelle Mead. I enjoyed most of her older series and read Vampire Academy when I was in high school, then continued to read her new releases through the Bloodlines spinoffs. Her fae in the Dark Swan series remains my favorite portrayal of faeries. Holly Black's Cruel Prince and Sarah J Maas' Court series are tied at a close second.

I admit I don't read a lot on Wattpad, but I enjoy eliyeda's chick-lit book Wattpad Letters (and it's prequel!) about a woman experiencing sexual assault by her boss and is inevitably fired when she refuses, and later takes him to court to pay for what he does to women. It's not often you read a book that highlights these things a lot of women experience in the workforce. Coupled with that, she meets a guy on Wattpad that encourages her to in everything she does.

For Fantasy, I'm reading Obsidian by SiennaFrost about a slave male escort who is also an assassin. Sienna's really good at bringing you into her world and teaching you the setting and the culture. Right now I'm obsessed with two of her characters, Zahara and the prince, that I want them to have their own prequel.

Name few of your close wattpad friends.

eliyeda and cryingforelia are the two I talk too the most. We've probably broken the inbox between thousands of messages until we all had to move our chats to fb messenger just to keep up. They're fun to bounce ideas off of and we talk about our books and wattpad, and just anything else.

What is your favorite series you have recently watched or read?

I've been obsessed and watched The 100 since day one religiously, and recently I've been reliving childhood nostalgia by watching So Weird on Disney+. I haven't been reading much lately what with writing, but I'm excited for The Queen of Nothing coming out so I can binge that.

Who is your favorite actor/actress?

Bob Morley. He seems like a sweet, happy guy at cons and stuff, but he's open on social media with his depression and how it affects him and millions of others, which is something I find incredibly brave. And he becomes someone else on tv so flawlessly that it's hard to convince myself they are technically the same person. Tatiana Maslany is an awesome actress as well; she's able to roll in and play 3+ entirely different characters and makes you believe all her twins are really different people, right down to how they talk and move.

Who is your favorite Villain you couldn't help but love?

The Darkling from the Shadow & Bone series by Leigh Bardugo. He's ancient, but there's also something so childlike about him.

What are your hobbies other than writing and reading?

I do like graphic design. I can't say that I'm good at it, but I have fun and lose myself sometimes for hours, and then I'll come back to the real world and find out what feels like 10 minutes has been three hours.

What are your hidden talents?

I'm not sure if it's really hidden, but I'm good at thinking up things on the spot, and I'm good at lip-reading.

Who is your first celebrity crush?

Probably Jonathan Taylor Thomas. This speaks to my age, but every girl was in love with him when I was little.

What is the most embarrassing situation that you have ever been through?

Senior year of high school, I ripped my pants in first-period economics. Not a little rip either, it was from the top of the bum down and coming up the front, like assless chaps. I was mortified, I called my mom but she didn't call back to check me out of school till halfway through the day. I hid it by taking my sweater across my waist and then zipping it up in the front so it resembled a weird skirt with sleeves. I looked like an idiot, but at least no one saw my undies. I hope.

One craziest thing you have ever done?

I went skydiving, thinking I was going to face my fears and not be afraid of heights anymore. I'm still afraid of heights, but I lost ten years off my life.

There are many authors who just started their journey and many readers who want to write but has no courage to do so. Please give them a tip and a word of encouragement.

As the great Shia LaBeouf says: Don't let your dreams be dreams. Yesterday, you said tomorrow. So just do it. Make your dreams come true. Just do it.

Really, you can be your own worst enemy sometimes. Even if you think your writing isn't good, there's no way you can get better if you don't try. Try and try again.

Last but not the least, have you ever dreamt of writing your own comic?

I've never really thought about it, but I probably wouldn't be any good at it. I'm always complaining about how short word counts are for short story contests and flash fiction.
