Pen Name: K.S. Lynch

Username: bateaux

Is your pen name your legal name? If no, then how did you make up one?

My pen name is the first and middle initials of my real name, but I used a false surname. In the place I used to live a few years ago, I always walked past a parking lot with school buses that said "Lynch Bus Lines" on the side, I think that's when I first started liking the name. This is actually the third pen name I've written under, and my last one was an anagram of my first and middle names!

How many books have you published till date?

Oh, gosh. I just had to take a second to write them all down. Spanning over seven years, and several different accounts, I've posted around 26 stories of varying lengths to Wattpad. Of those 26, only 11 have been completed. Currently, I have 8 works available!

What are your future projects?

My main writing priorities for the future are to edit Blackout so I can finally get a start on writing the sequel, Blacklist! I'm sure other projects will come up in the meantime, though, they always do.

What is writing to you?

Writing is a way for me to explore the world, and live a thousand different lives. Books are a way to escape your reality, or find characters you relate with, a way to make you feel less alone. It's very hard sometimes, but at the end of the day, I love story-telling, and I love the way it connects us.

Is being an author, your long time dream or a hidden passion you found out later?

I've loved writing ever since I was little, but it was always just a hobby, I never considered being actually published. Only in the past six months or so have I realized that just posting on Wattpad isn't enough, I'd love to be traditionally published someday!

What genre books you like to work on?

Primarily YA, but I'm gravitating toward New Adult more and more, as I want to write and read about characters who are at a similar stage in life as me. And no matter the genre, I always have to have romance!

If we challenge you to write a book of another genre we suggest, then would you take it up?

I'd definitely consider it! I have the most fun when I'm trying out something new.

Then we would love to read a Werewolf book from you soon.

Writing is a reality that paints a beautiful fantasy. What do you think are the charms of writing fiction/non fictional books?

It's amazing how easy it is to immerse yourself in a book, and become so invested in fictional characters' lives, as if they become close friends along the way.

Who are your favorite authors in and out of wattpad?

simonesaidwhat UnsinkableShips solacing autheras anthems hyrule iwearheelys ToastedBagels  to name a few! Embarrassingly, I don't read a lot off Wattpad so I don't feel like I have a favourite author at the moment. I read Legendary by Stephanie Garber this year, and really, really enjoyed it though!

Name few of your close wattpad friends.

I've met too many wonderful people on this site, and consider them "real" friends, not just Wattpad friends! They know who they are ;-)

What is your favorite series you have recently watched or read?

Hm, I haven't actually been watching or reading a whole lot recently. But my favourite anime, Chihayafuru, is currently airing its third season, so I need to catch up with that! I've also been re-watching Chris Broad's "Journey Across Japan" series on YouTube. Highly recommend!

Who is your favorite actor/actress?

I don't think I keep up with anyone enough to have a favourite, but I remember really loving Troian Bellisario in my Pretty Little Liars phase.

Who is your favorite Villain you couldn't help but love?

I'm so sad, I can't think of one!

What are your hobbies other than writing and reading?

I like singing, playing guitar, and piano. I also like games like The Sims, Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, and Nancy Drew.

What are your hidden talents?

Knowing most of the script of the first Twilight movie? I don't know, LOL.

Who is your first celebrity crush?

Ooh, I don't know if I remember my first. But I know I had a crush on pretty much any male character in the movies I watched as a kid. Maybe Peter Pan? Antoni Porowski from Queer Eye has my heart now (Antoni, if you're reading this, I'm free on Thursday. Please call me so we can hang out on Thursday when I am free).

What is the most embarrassing situation that you have ever been through?

I've honestly probably repressed the memory. But one thing that comes to mind and isn't completely traumatic is my first date, when we were sitting in the car and saying goodbye, and he hugged me and I said "Oh, God, this is awkward" aloud. Not my proudest moment. Actually, that whole night is an embarrassing situation.

One craziest thing you have ever done?

Moving from my tiny hometown to one of the biggest cities in Canada by myself to go to school! Still can't believe I did it, but I'm home now, and I want to do it again.

There are many authors who just started their journey and many readers who want to write but has no courage to do so. Please give them a tip and a word of encouragement.

It sounds cliche, but good things take time! Don't lose heart. Just focus on honing your craft, and writing something that makes you excited.

Last but not the least, have you ever dreamt of writing your own comic?

Not in recent years, but when I was a kid I made a little comic book about a girl named Carly, and her adventures in Junior High.

What do you feel about this interview?
