A stack of wheels brushed against the side of the stick.

Soon, a foreign object came into view: food.

'This is important.'

Raymond swallowed nervously.

The food was heading towards the griffin's unique air-sac, absent in humans.

'One wrong move, and it could either completely obstruct the path to the air sacs or go deeper into the bronchi.'

Resulting in suffocation and death.

Then, a warning message chimed.

[Insufficient mana remaining, Celestial Eye magic will end in 10 seconds!]

'Can I do this?'

Raymond couldn't shake the doubt.

He hesitated, knowing a mistake could mean ending the creature's life by his own hand.

But then he remembered the griffin's words.

'I am a great griffin! I will trust you.'

"...!"

Raymond bit his lip.

The rope at the end of the stick began to move as if it were alive.

'Let's do this, it's not like we can back out. Use, Bind Magic!'

[For your level of magic, your stamina stat is 'very' high!]

[Allows for 'fine-tuned application of magic'!]

Raymond focused all his concentration and exerted his magic.

And then...

Bam.

He successfully secured the string around the food!

'Now, I need to extract it.'

The lodged food wasn't just sturdy bones.

If he exerted too much force, it would crumble, risking its loss; conversely, too little force wouldn't dislodge it.

Raymond relied on his high endurance to apply just the right amount of force.

Then, he withdrew the stick.

Slowly.

With nerves tingling but without rushing.

And then...

[Mana used up! 'Celestial Eye' spell ends!]

His vision dimmed with the message.

Paat!

The stick slipped from his mouth!

Raymond hastily examined the stick's end.

'My sight was obscured, what if I missed the food?'

Fortunately, the food still clung to the stick's end.

The procedure was a success!

'Phew.'

Raymond released a relieved sigh as the tension dissipated.

The griffin coughed persistently for a moment before springing into action.

It leaped to its feet, emitted a loud cry, opened its jaws wide, and lunged towards Raymond!

"Master, no!"

"Master!"

"You fool, cease!"

Everyone recoiled in shock; the griffin appeared poised to attack Raymond.
