Chapter 11 - The Beckendorf

(Spence's PoV)

Inihanda ko ang aking sarili upang makinig sa mga sasabihin ni Suzanne.

"First things first!", pagsisimula niya

"We're not Koreans like my brother had told you!"

"Yes. We figured it out already!", sagot ko

Halatang nahihirapan siyang mag-umpisa nun. Tila hindi niya alam kung saan at kung paano niya sisimulan.

"Can I just start with a question?", tanong ko sa kaniya

"Fire away!"

"What's do you think is the reason why Marcus had to leave London and change his identity in our country?"

"I'm sure you're aware that my parents are well-known in business realm. And that's exactly the reason why Marcus wanted to pull himself away from us."

"Marcus is my Dad's favorite between the two of us. Dad trusts him so much. He has this belief that one day, Marcus will be the heir of our wealth. That's why, he takes care of my brother so much. He ensures his safety by giving him body guards wherever he goes. He gives everything Marcus would want and need. With that, we can categorize him as spoiled. My Dad is considered as the King of businesses for he had contributed hugely in stock exchange and in the economy of London as a whole and......Marcus is treated as the Prince. Well he must be, as ordered by my Dad. So he always has this special treatment wherever he goes."

"One characteristic of my Dad is that he's too tight to the people he cares for. For him, it's never wrong for in his viewpoint, he has a valid reason... he wants us to be safe"

"but..... the problem is...Marcus is not that kind of person. He doesn't enjoy such treatment because he's not clingy. Until he started to look for freedom. He wants to experience living without being dictated by his superior. He envy those ordinary people who may not get everything they would want, but they can always do what can make them happy. Back in London, he used to be mischievous. He often elude his body guards. But he always end up caught and lectured by Dad"

Sa mga huling linya, napangiti siya habang inaalala ang mga bagay na yun na tila isang napakagandang ala-ala.

".....one day, he told me that he wants to be a detective. He wants to solve cases and help innocents gain justice. That means, he doesn't want to follow my Dad's footsteps. Dad had find out. And as expected, He opposed Marcus' ambition. But my brother is so determined to pursue it..that's why he went away somewhere and later did I found that he's in the Philippines with our Nanny"

Na-kwento ni Irish yung tungkol sa Korean Restaurant na totoong tinutuluyan ni Marcus.

Ganun pala yung kwento ng buhay niya. Kaya pala nung nawala ako at pinagkamalan akong patay, siya yung nandun para maghanap ng lead.

Hindi niya totally na-solve yung casw pero pinapabilib niya ako kung gaano siya ka-determinado sa pangarap niya.

"So Marcus is not a real detective!", pag-conclude ni Irish

"What do you mean?"

"Marcus showed me a license before!"

Napangiti si Suzanne

"It's just a fake license. Blame it on me. I handed it to him on his birthday after he told me he wants to be a detective"

"You're supportive!", impressed na sagot ni Irish
