After Linda hung up the phone, she spotted Dorothy, who was walking over with a pale face.

Linda immediately rushed toward her and gave her a slap on the face. Burning with rage, she swore, "You shameless b*tch! I've raised you since you were young and this is how you repay me? Four years ago, you shamelessly stole Rosie's boyfriend away. And now, you hired thugs to hurt her. You evil woman! My poor Rosie is still lying on the operating table, not knowing whether she will live or die... Dorothy Fisher! Just you wait! If anything happens to Rosie this time, I will kill you!"

Thinking of her daughter who was lying in a pool of blood, Linda lashed out at Dorothy hysterically. She hit Dorothy violently with the leather bag in her hand.

This time, for the sake of her precious daughter's lifelong happiness, she would not let Dorothy succeed no matter what.

If Rosie were to marry Credence four years ago, the Fisher family would have gained more power in Talco City. There would be no need for them to be calculative in their every step.

Fortunately, Rosalie was sharp enough. She had managed to have credence in the palm of her hand and he seemed to have complete trust in her.

"Hiss!"

Dorothy was caught off guard by Linda's slap. In an instant, she felt half of her face go numb. She was light-headed, and her ears buzzed.

Linda's attitude toward her was much harsher than Rosalie's, but after all, she was the woman who had raised her up.

Therefore, Dorothy did not avoid her assault. She stood rooted to the ground, allowing Linda to lash out at her.

There was a touch of helplessness and bitterness in her eyes as she explained in a soft voice, "Mom, I didn't. I didn't do anything to hurt Rosalie."

Dorothy was in so much pain that she did not dare to touch herself. It was especially painful on her abdomen, where her injured uterus was. It hurt so much that she could not even breathe!

No one believed her. Everyone was throwing mud at her, and it made her feel worse than death.

People who were walking past the corridor threw disdainful glances at her. Obviously, they firmly believed that she was a shameless woman who had stolen her sister's boyfriend away. She deserved to be beaten.

There was no trace of sympathy in their eyes. Their gazes were like a bunch of sharp knives, stabbing into Dorothy's heart simultaneously.

Despite the bright sunshine outside, she felt so cold that her body shivered.

Although living in a world full of warmth, her heart was in a dark abyss.

With her head hung low, Dorothy endured Linda's endless verbal and physical assault in silence.

"If it's not you, who else could it be?"

When Linda was tired of beating Dorothy, she stopped and caught her breath. Then, she shifted her gaze to Credence, who stood behind Dorothy. "Credence, you've come at the right time. You have to divorce this heartless woman immediately. Also, if Rosie couldn't make it this time, you'll have to make her pay with her life. If Rosie survives, put her in prison!"

She did not want such a vicious adopted daughter anymore.

Only then did Dorothy realize Credence was there. Her heart skipped a beat, and she slowly turned her head. Once she looked up, she met his sinister gaze.

He was just standing less than two meters away from her. He stared at her coldly. In the depths of his dark eyes, there was a complex emotion that she could not understand.
