Me: "Dad!"
Shawn didn't answer anything. He was just looking at us.
Dad: "What? It's true... I mean- It's not the most paying job."
Me: "Dad! I don't care if his job will make less money than your's does. If that's what's gonna make him happy, working in music, what he loves, than that's gonna make me happy. I don't care how much money he's gonna have. If he's  happy and there for the family, that's all that matters, not like you."
My dad just looked at the two of us and took a deep breath. He didn't add anything, knowing I was right.
Shawn looked at me, surprise by my actions. I looked back at him, mouthing "sorry". He just slightly touched my arm and nodded.
Shawn: "I- I think it's time for me to leave..." he said, starting to get up.
Mom: "No! No, darling, you can stay!"
Me: "Yeah, come with me" I said and took his hand.
I took him upstairs, in my room, before closing the door.
Me: "I'm so sorry. My dad is such an asshole... Please, don't listen to him."
Shawn: "It's okay, hun'. It's not your fault."
Me: "I feel so bad... He is so rude. I don't want you to feel bad about this. Ughh, I don't know what to say, I'm just-"
Shawn: "Hunny..." he cut me and got closer to hug me very tightly.
Me: "But- Shawn?"
Shawn: "Yeah?" He said, separating from the hug to look into my eyes.
Me: "You never told me that you sing and play guitar?"
Shawn: "Oh. It's not that important..."
Me: "Yes it is! I wanna hear you play!"
Shawn: "Ehm, I dont think-"
Me: "Pleeeeassee Shaaaawn!!" I looked at him with pleading eyes, hoping he would say yes.
Shawn: "Okay.." he sighed.
Me: "Yay!!"
He chucked at my actions, making me chuckled back.
